Game of the year

If you like GTA games then you will like Red Dead Redemption. Same thing, just a Western story-line which is really good especially the end.

so ride around on horses 90% of the game from objective to objective?
I guess i'm just a rare breed that doesn't enjoy GTA as everyone else
New trailer released today. :dancin

177 days to go. :D
New trailer stinks. Only interested in actual gameplay.

If you like to explore then yeah ride around on horses. I’m sure they will have a faster method to travel to the next mission like they did on RD1. Yeah open world sandboxes isn’t for everyone. I like to explore and unlock challenges

I would have liked to have seen more gameplay too. Still, I like that it seems that they put a lot of effort into the single-player game. I'm not into the online bs.
So apparently after the trailer release, they did dump a bunch of gameplay info through IGN, including a ton of stills. My only concern was that the lack of gameplay images make me wonder if October is really a date that's gonna hold. But this info is promising.

damn that shit looks so SLICK and Ol' Western vidya's don't interest me at all
GTA took 3 years for used copies to even drop in price so what's the point in waiting on this one?
this shit will be $50-$60 until PS5 is released
might as well day-1 it
Man there are just too many decent looking PS4 titles coming out this Fall/Winter
Red Dead
Spiderman
Battlefield 5
Days Gone
Resident Evil 2 remake
Anthem?
This is the 1st game I've preordered since GTA V on PS3. Rockstar and Naughty Dog are by far the best developers at the moment.
I hope the Online part of the game doesn't go the same way that GTA V did. Doing Heists was great fun providing you were doing it with friends, but the constant grind to buy ever more expensive vehicles etc became a chore. The Yacht (Not that I owned one thank god) was a massive middle finger to the players.
I dont care about online. Just give me a great single player campaign with all the usual Rockstar fixings (great story, interesting characters, fun and inventive missions, lots of weapons, a varied map to explore, some "holy shit!" moments, a lot of collectibles, Easter eggs and myths) and I'll be one happy guy.

100%
IMO game of the year is God of War and it's a 25+hr linear campaign with no multiplayer whatsoever
OG franchises are turning into Fortnite Royal modes taking away SP story development
Heck, i don't even think the new COD Black Ops has a campaign anymore, it's only multiplayer now

I've got pre-orders out for Red Dead, Spiderman, Resident Evil 2, and Tomb Raider.
And Guacamellee, to be downloaded tomorrow.
And I'll do Days Gone once it's available. And The Last of Us 2.
Something will fall. No way I'll be able to play all of them.

It's that 3-4 year glory period inbetween console gens when the market gets flooded with an abundance of new 5* AAA strictly dedicated to Sony/MS/PC best hardware only
Right now is always that golden period to dip your dick into gaming because classics from 1-3 years ago are dirt cheap and at the same time you get the benefit of studios pumping out fresh material for the next couple years
wake me up when this shit comes out for PC
You're right. The developers have really figured out the hardware and come up with a lot of the better ideas.
Guacamellee is a superb game by the way. It's a fairly complicated bit of platforming and combat sequencing, but it plays extremely naturally. It's got a great sense of humor. It uses it's upgrades and Metroidvania unlocking superbly, and just generally is an extremely well thought out game. It's got some of that old school difficulty without feeling burdensome.
2 months to go. I'm glad this is winding down so Rockstar can get cracking on GTA 6 already. :D
GTA 5 was the worst 3D GTA ever made.
Everything from 3 to 4 was golden.
Great vid.

Review with game play.
Damn this game looks so epic. Going to pre-order my copy in the next week or 2.
I seriously think this is going to be the greatest game of all time (or close at the very least); calling it. Not that that's a stretch.
I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm. People were saying the same thing about GTA V before it came out; now many say it sucks (I love GTA V btw).
It does look great though.
Pre-ordered.

GTA V was awesome. My only gripe with it was the Online mode. It got out of control after the Heists DLC and unless you spent your life on the game you got priced out of being able to buy anything. Even Shark Cards don't cover the costs to play the additional content and most lobbies are filled up with players trolling each other now.
I think Red Dead will be the highest rated game of the year. This is Rockstar's first and likely only game built for the PS4 and Xbone consoles. No way they screw it up.

I am so ready for a new Rockstar game.
I never play online stuff so I dunno. I wish GTA V had single player dlc's like 4 had. They could have done so much with it; so much of the map was underutilized in the game.
Pre-ordered.
I preordered this over a year ago (about May 2017), before it got delayed twice.

:biggums:
Weakest single player campaign since GTA 2.
100+GB game file :biggums:
4 more days my guys.
Gamestop is releasing it at 9pm on Thurs in my area, I'll be playing Thursday night. This game is going to be huge.
2 more days.
On the eve of this game's release, I wonder: how much time will pass before nerds start popping up on the internet claiming to have beaten the game and bitching that it was too easy? I say, give it 36 hours. :lol So, by Saturday afternoon at the latest.
Got it!
Installed the first disc and patch, installing disc 2.
Release was exciting, it's fun being hype with a bunch of like minded people.
