Re: Allen Iverson to join Dominican Republic team
"He and his agent have told us that he has been training a lot and that even if he hasn't been playing anywhere, he has what we need to help Pueblo Nuevo," team president Milton Nunez said.
Dat dedication. Don't quit holding onto the dream!
Re: Allen Iverson to join Dominican Republic team
It's a shame Iverson's career didn't wrap up in the NBA like it should have
Instead of seeking a job for a long time now, failing to find one, and having to sign in another country to pull some cash in and keep his game alive

His partying, drinking, depression, family / crew issues caught up to him ... and he rapidly declined.
Still one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen.
He lives on in my memory as the warrior he was.

I share your sentiment about Iverson's heart, but it's just not true that his partying and drinking kept him out of the NBA. He was blackballed, simple as that.
Re: Allen Iverson to join Dominican Republic team
From all the stories, news reports and courtcases looks like Iverson always been an asshole to anyone who's not in his crew. He's made his own mess during his life, funny the sympathy he is getting now.

Talking to my family members from Pueblo Nuevo,Dominican Republic (I have a cousin that plays for the team) and even they were surprised Iverson is signing over there.
