2012 OTC WWE/WWF/WWWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
16 players will be randomized into a serpentine draft, and draft 8 wrestlers each. The wrestlers will be all time from WWWF/WWF/WWE.
Once the team is selected, players will be randomly seeded into a single elim bracket. Teams will submit 1 tag team and 4 other wrestlers they would like to face off against their opponent. I will then randomize to see who wrestles who (there will be no handicapped matches, the tag teams will always face each other). Each matchup will be judged by a panel of 3 judges per matchup (there will probably be more judges for later match-ups, such as semis/finals).
Here is the randomized draft order. 8 hour time limit!! If you plan on not being around, send a contingency list to me or someone more active than you who will make your picks.

Would anyone else be willing to help simulate some of the matchups?
I can link you to the client and demonstrate how it should be posted.

Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
So for the first round people have infinite time to pick?
Also, on what will the matches be judged? Or we staying with keyfabe and assuming The Rock will always trump Taka Michinoku, or are we going more in depth in discussion how while The Rock may be a better mic performer and have more charisma, Taka is much better wrestler with an arsenal of high flying moves.

Probably the latter or however you(as a judge) and other judges want to evaluate but always give enough support on why you're picking one wrestler over the other. Shouldn't be too hard to put in two or three comparison paragraphs. At least that's how I would evaluate as a judge.

yes, unless it's like ridiculous

I decided we're going to use a program called Pro Wrestling to simulate the matchups, and judges won't be necessary.

Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
How does this Pro Wrestling Nexus thing work? What are the wins based on?
Also, are teams one pick or two?
And if we pick 4 wrestlers per round, what's the point of 8 rounds? Won't you just pick your Top 4 guys, and are there really 128 WWE wrestlers who are notable enough to justify being picked?
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
we aren't picking 4 per round, what are you talking about? did i misspell something to make it seem like that?
i dont know how it works, tbh.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
i think pretty much each wrestler has a certain amount of health and they all have certain moves and those moves do damage.
i'm assuming it's based on percentages and stuff

I meant per matchup round.
Well somebody should figure it out so I know how to pick. :lol
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
just pick how you'd usually pick.
well i thought it'd be nice to have some variety in the wrestlers available. you need at least 6.

As Maniak said, it sounds like it takes into account the wrestlers wins/losses, moveset, and championships. It is a simulation (similar to the show Deadliest Warrior if you have seen that). There are different scenarios that will result in a victory for each wrestler. Whichever wrestler has a higher probability of victory will be selected as the 'better' wrestler.

Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
I have charlie sheens picks at number 8 since he might not be here to make them
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
This is the first i'm hearing of a simulator. I thought it was all going to be judged.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
If you're really against the simulator we can just do judges. I just thought it'd be a more interesting way of doing things but I really don't care all that much.

I don't mind having both, its just the simulator wouldn't take into account things like how well rounded the wrestler is beyond how popular or how successful they were in the company. Don't want to name drop, but i would argue some wrestlers were better than others, despite the other wrestler being more popular or achieving more success.
Also, if we draft a WWF/E wrestler whose prime was in another promotion, can we still argue that wrestler's worth based on how good they were before or after the WWE?

no. you're drafting them based off what they were in the wwe.

Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
:oldlol: That's pretty funny.
Odds are someone will drop out/not show up enough. If not, would you mind helping judge alongside EnoughSaid? (I think we may switch back over to the judge format)
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
I think the judging system is actually better than Pro Wrestling Nexus.
Format will still be pretty much the same. I'll update the OP.
Still awaiting Sky.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
Updated the OP.
Should we stick at 8 rounds or move down to 6 or 7?
Keep in mind that 6 wrestlers will be needed to match up each night (1 tag team match up and 4 one versus one match ups)
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
Assuming we will still be taking two to form a tag team, 7 or 6 isn't bad. Considering how many people are involved it would make it go smoother if their are less match ups involved.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
I think 7, while an odd number, might be better. I don't really know if wrestlers drafted in the 8th round would be useful.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
Let me get this straight...
For the draft, we'll draft 8 wrestlers.
For the matches, we'll use 4 singles and 1 tag team.
-
Re: 2012 OTC PWN WWE/WWF Wrestling Draft - Official Draft Thread
Does the simulator take that into account?
I think we may be switching away from the simulator format, as it may be more fair all around for people to judge.
