Larry Bird has immense testicular fortitude.
During the 80s I could understand why people loved Magic, but I have to give it to Bird. Walking down the street you would never expect that Bird was a basketball player except from his height. If you talked to him you would meet a shy guy. But if you saw him on a basketball court, you would understand he lived for nothing else.
There is so many people today that is able to drag attention to themselves without being able to do something and create something. So many reality programs, so many facebook profiles with people "being awesome" and the list goes on.
If you really got passion, you dont need to talk about it, it will show. You dont need to scream for attention. You do what you love and sooner or later it shows.
He has one of the ugliest shots ever.
Nobody teaches you to hold the ball from the side of your head.
It's a very effective technique for that era but he would get his shot batted by players today.
The release is very slow.
:lol future repped
OP: future repped.
9erempire: future negged.
Derek Fisher has a similar shooting form:

I totally agree. When you compare Dirk to Larry, you see why. Bird would not get his shot up in todays game.

The best 3 points shooter in Asia in the late 1980's and 1990's also has the same release as Mr. Bird.

Larry Bird would not have any problems with today's players at all. Don't worry.
He uses his off hand to help assist on the shot.
Unconsciously I used to do that as well until I corrected it thinking it was fundamentally unsound.
But it worked for him so more power to him.
Thread title is pretty funny.

He wasnt getting batted by players who were still in the league in 2007. And he played them when he had fallen off...and they were at their athletic peak. Do you think defense was invented in 2010?
