It was incredibly sad and yet, simultaneously, the most uplifting story of kindness and human spirit.

Patrick Ewing
John Stockton and Patrick Ewing are separated by only 1 vote, so I'll give this one a little more time.
Ewing.
John Stockton and Patrick Ewing are tied with 12 votes. 4 PM Pacific is when I'll start #32.
Just for the hell of it...some quotes posted here a while back:
Ewing's play has been an even more important component of New York's success. "He might be the best in the game right now," Los Angeles's Mychal Thompson told the New York Daily News after Ewing scored 29 points in a 115-104 loss on Dec. 3. "He and Magic [Johnson] are shoulder to shoulder."
''If he doesn't win it, he'll be right there,'' said Magic Johnson, who has won the award twice. ''And if he continues putting up the numbers he's putting up, it's going to be hard for any of us to beat him out.
Quote:
Magic Johnson
''He has taken his game to another level,'' Johnson continued, ''a level I've never seen him play at before. He's dominating offensively and defensively, but he's also making the right plays at the right time. He's leading his team, as opposed to before, when it seemed he'd just as soon let somebody else lead. That's the real mark of an m.v.p.''

"I've never seen him do better," Bol said. Asked who is the league's best center , he replied: "I would say before Akeem but now Ewing, sure the way he played tonight. His game is different than years His game is different than years ago. He's shooting the outside jump shot and the jump hook."
Not the same tier in their day.....
That said....I cant vote for Ewing just so he wins when I dont think he belongs here. He should beat stockton. But that isnt the issue is it?
I hate that so many vote for the two guys closest when there are so many reasonable picks. It becomes ___ vs ___ and not...who they think it out and select. Which id rather not do.
If Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone and Jeff Hornacek were on the same team in the 90's, Jordan would not have all six rings.
Ewing is clearly better then Stockton.
But my vote is for Bill Walton.
Patrick Ewing
Stockton
This is an accolade driven board. Anybody who puts up that picture of Jordan and his awards should clearly vote for Stockton
OK, now it's tied again. I was just about to start the next thread.
I'll let it go on for a couple of hours longer.
