in hs and college?
Jacque Vaughn (former NBA player) had a very high GPA. 3.94 in high school and a 3.72 in Kansas (college)
Emeka Okafor had a 3.8 in college (UConn) and a 4.3 in high school.
He is actually tied with Thaddeus Young for high school GPA. T. Young also got a 4.3 in high school, no idea what his college GPA was though
Edit: Matt Bonner wins in college since he had a 3.96 GPA in Florida.
In it, Wetzel tells a story from Battier’s senior year in high school, in which many top programs were recruiting him,
Battier narrowed his choices to six schools — Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan and Michigan State — and told everyone else, politely, to leave him be.
He then set out to minimize the degree to which the chosen schools could interfere with his studies; he had a 3.96 G.P.A. and was poised to claim Detroit Country Day School’s headmaster’s cup for best all-around student.
He granted each head coach a weekly 15-minute window in which to phone him. These men happened to be among the most famous basketball coaches in the world and the most persistent recruiters, but Battier granted no exceptions.
When the Kentucky coach Rick Pitino, who had just won a national championship, tried to call Battier outside his assigned time, Battier simply removed Kentucky from his list. “What 17-year-old has the stones to do that?” Wetzel asks.
“To just cut off Rick Pitino because he calls outside his window?” Wetzel answers his own question: “It wasn’t like, ‘This is a really interesting 17-year-old.’ It was like, ‘This isn’t real.’ ”
Memphis Grizzlies' Shane Battier.
HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM WIKIPEDIA:
Battier was a two-time Academic All-American and Academic All-American of the year in 2001.
***Let me state that it takes smarts to have the GPA to become an Academic All-American.

I'm gonna let racism light my way and guess JJ Reddick

How do you know all this. Nice job good sir
I know Derrick Rose had like a really high SAT score.
I'm gonna let racism light my way and guess JJ Reddick
the same jj reddick that never graduated from duke?
okufor graduated in a real major in 3 years..
battier is a smart guy and actually a very polished and articulate guy....but let's be real....religion is a gut major...even at Duke....or especially at Duke
I know Derrick Rose had like a really high SAT score.
I really don't believe the SAT thing Derrick had a 3.2 in high school.
Ya'll are all foolish....it's obviously without question Jeremy Lin. He had a 3.1 at Harvard, but wasn't taking bs classes. He got into Harvard on pure brains, as they don't offer athletic scholarships. He obviously a pretty smart dude, plus he's Asian.
I really don't believe the SAT thing Derrick had a 3.2 in high school.
did he take his own tests or did he have someone take it for him?
Really depends on the major.. Math/Physics/Chemistry/Biology require a lot more time and work than most other majors.
Shane Battier majored in religion. Come on. That's like a guaranteed 4.0.
Agree with poster who said Jeremy Lin.
