Carmelo Anthony may not have wanted Knicks to sign J.R. Smith
Or so says a report from the NY Post today:

What do you think of how Smith has fit on the team?
And about Melo wanting him vs not wanting him?

I don't find this surprising at all.
Its becoming clear that the Knicks made a mistake by giving up so much for Carmelo. The team shouldn't compound that mistake by catering to any of his demands.
If JR can play the way he did during his first game, then the acquisition was worth it. He and Novak can spread the floor, and JR can play a little point guard, or help with ball distribution.

JR smith has no problem coming off the bench.... but one thing i notice is...
if he's coming off the bench for Shumpert or Fields, he probably feels he's much better player than those guys and he was also putting up 40 point games in China. He is a better player than those guys.

Re: Carmelo Anthony may not have wanted Knicks to sign J.R. Smith
Not true- jr is in ny only because Carmelo is there. JR smith and Carmelo have wanted to play together for a long time and have never had the chance due to g karls attempt to sabotage the both of them and due to the timing of jr coming on to the team. Now is the time because of the recent bad play to insert jr into the starting lineup. When you don't play your best players together all you are doing as a coach is trying to set up hope for improvement or excuses for failures and not going all out to win (the g karl method of coaching where continuing to coach is more important that trying to be the best team possible) why would a coach do that? Because if you put your best team on the floor and don't win than you have noone to blame but the coach

I always laugh when I hear of Karl's attempts so sabotage the careers of Melo and Smith...especially Melo. Either that or, sometimes, I take a step back and think and just...
Re: Carmelo Anthony may not have wanted Knicks to sign J.R. Smith
When are the Knicks going to start winning with Marsh-Melo?

Sometimes it's better to STFU than remove all doubt.

Difference in leadership between Lebron (GOAT level) and Melo (non existent).
