Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Seriously dude? You are taking subliminal shots at guys in the media when your ass got EMBARRASSED by Kevin Garnett and Roy Hibbert in consecutive series. Tyson Chandler is a sorry piece of trash. Until he shows up in the playoffs, he's dead to me. It's one thing to play poorly. Now you're blaming everyone else BUT yourself? When Melo plays poorly, I see him say "I need to play better". I see that out of EVERY Knick except this clown. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read all of these articles. Blaming everyone but yourself. You're going to complain about the offense when you contribute NOTHING on that end. Then you're going to complain about people not doubling and helping you out with Hibbert? Are you serious? :wtf: EVERY OTHER PACER shot under 50%. They weren't running Hibbert off of screens. The put him on the block and dared our "DPOY" to guard him Mano y Mano...and you know what...He BUSTED YOUR AASSSSSSSS! Man up and stop creating controversy in the playoffs. Where's the leadership in that?

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
I decided to take a look at Tyson's career playoff numbers as a Knick.
They are even worse than I expected.
5.9 points,7.8 rebounds,1.1 blocks on 55% shooting
We're paying $10+ mil. for that ??? It's even worse when you consider he's played most of the games against poor rebounding teams in Miami and Boston.
When I better think about it the Celtics aren't even a poor rebounding team. They are horrible. THE WORST.
Only thing that you can call good is 55% shooting and even that is disappointing considering all he does is dunk the ball.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
And before knickscity tries to include Melo in all of this here are his career playoff numbers as a Knick:
28.1 points,7 rebounds,1.9 assists on 40% shooting (27% for three).
His shooting hasn't been good but he's gone against 3 of the best defensive teams in the league unlike Tyson who has gone against 2 of the worst rebounding teams and still can't average more than 8 rebounds per game despite being 7'1.
Also LeBron had worse numbers against the Knicks last year than against any other team he faced in the playoffs. On the other hand every opposing big has been shitting all over Tyson (Bosh last year,KG and Hibbert this year).
Melo almost single-handedly won game 4 vs Miami last year. He hit clutch shots in games 1 and 6 against Boston.
How many games Tyson won for us ? NONE. He's playing awful for 80% of the time and for the 20% of the time he's mediocre. I'm still waiting for a "DPOY" type performance from him in the playoffs.
At the end of the day we brought Melo here to score. We all knew he's not the most efficient guy. He's been scoring. Not efficiently but he's been scoring and he's won some games for us.
We brought Tyson here to defend and paid him almost as much as Melo. He's been HORRIBLE. He can't defend. He can't rebound. Every opposing big is embarrassing him. Soft bitch Bosh abused him last year. 100 year old KG dominated him in round 1. He makes a mediocre offensive player (and I'm being generous) in Hibbert look like Hakeem out there.
TYSON IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT ON THIS TEAM. HE SUPPOSED TO BE A WINNER WHO'LL HELP YOU WIN GAMES IN THE PLAYOFFS BUT ONLY THING HE DID SO FAR IS LOSE GAMES FOR US. F*CK THIS GUY. I WANT HIM OFF THE TEAM. I'VE SEEN ENOUGH.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Knickscity can post that Melo hating stuff in another thread lol
All I know is, I keep hearing Tyson Chandler is a leader and defensive specialist, but in the playoffs he's been anything but. He's taking subliminal shots at teammates, getting stupid techs, and getting KILLED by Roy Hibbert and Kevin Garnett in consecutive series.

Career Coward! Comes up small in the playoffs!
Tyson Chandler Regular Season vs Post Season

Only ONE season in which his play has gotten better come playoff time. All others, he's gotten significantly WORSE in the post season...including this year. Now let me see yall explain this one.

No one has disputed Tyson isnt playing well. No one has argued that point so obviously something is getting lost in the translation. No one is saying Tyson is worth the money he is getting.
Garnett and Hibbert are better players than Tyson.
NO ONE HAS DEFENDED HIM.
No one here knew Tyson was being added it wasnt a rumor or anything like that. All of sudden Billups was amnestied and Tyson was added.

I see what your saying...and I'm calling them out for being hypocrites. I'm beginning to think it's bigger than basketball. We talk about Melo receiving the lionshare of the blame because he's getting the max. So why does Tyson Chandler get less blame than JR Smith. Chandler makes 7 times what JR makes. JR, as pathetic as he's been, has given us WAY more this post season.
And your statement about "If the best player does his job nobody can blame him" is wrong also. When Melo scored 50 and we won...they complained about him only having 1 assist. When we beat the Clippers and Melo had 42 and 8, they complained about the same thing. It's ridiculous. People aren't mad at Melo because he's not getting the job done. People are mad because he isn't LeBron James. Well guess what? LeBron didn't want to come here...and I'm pretty sure those same people are the reason why.
But as I've said after every season...as fans, we can keep trying it the way we've been trying it. Keep blaming your best players and loving the underachieving role players. If you think you don't have power as a fan base...so be it. I've seen guys get traded based on the fans. So as long as you hype up Jason Kidd "doing the little things" and Jared Jeffries "doing stuff that doesn't show up in the stat sheet" ....that's the type of players we'll have on our roster. While Miami, who has just as much salary on the books as us, fills their roster with guys who can actually play. We can employ continue to give Tyson Chandler 14 million dollars and continue to give Jason Kidd 3.5 and continue to pay Marcus Camby 4 million to warm seats on the sideline. We can continue to pay Novak 4 mill in hopes that he hits a 3.
Then when we lose, we'll go back to blaming whoever our best player is. Rinse and Repeat. I don't get it but whatever. Wake me when it's over. Knickscity knows...we've both been diehard Knicks and Jets fans. I'm tired of drinking the Koolaid though man.

Hey thats on the coach. You dont have plays to call and you want to run ISO crap every possession and the players lack the leadership to say lets move the ball then that's what happens. ISO ball makes everyone stand around. If Melo makes an effort to give the ball up and other players step up then its all good.
There have been times this year and I have stated that Melo would pass the ball to open players but they wouldnt take the shot just for him to get the ball back with a few seconds on the clock.

Just leave the Hibbert part in because even though I agree, Kidd is too much of a nice guy and too classy to rip apart like that. :lol
I kinda wish Melo would flat out roast Chandler but lets be honest, the team would fall apart and we all know only he would crucified for it being the star and all...

It was cowardly. I rant and rave about Jason Kidd being bad all the time. That being said, I'm not a teammate. If I was, I'd be pissed, but I'm going to rise with my teammate regardless. Teams are like families. If me and my wife get into it, I'm not going to go around telling everyone about all the stuff she doesn't do. That's for US to work out. Chandler is a coward for that.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
In terms of Chandlers performance, there's no doubt he should be playing better, but hasn't Hibbert always had the potential to be a much better player than what he's produced? Huge body, good athleticism and reasonable touch around the basket. Is it not possible that he is just absolutely playing out of his skin this series? Or finally realising that if he plays more aggressively he is capable of being an absolute beast? I guess we won't know until we see what he does after this but there are two sides to every story.

So how do you explain Kevin Garnett, at age 37, giving him the business. How do you explain him being a no show for the Heat series LAST playoffs despite the Heat not even having a true center?
So instead of everyone being able to focus on the task at hand, you gotta deal with the distraction Tyson Chandler caused with his asinine comments in the media.

I'm just speculating, I'm not convinced Hibbert playing well is the reason. But KG didn't have that great a series against us. What were Chandlers rebounding stats against Boston? KG only averaged 12.7 pts which I expect the Celtics were disappointed with.

Tyson isnt healthy. I truly forgot this and I think it was because I was out the country for a good while. No one has to care but if you look back in March the dude was injured and came into the playoffs injured. I dont think he is hurt he is injured and he is gutting it out because there was no Amare, Camby, Wallace and instead of keeping Earl Barron they signed Q Richardson.
I wouldnt be shocked after the season is over Tyson gets some kind of neck and back surgery.

Melo's injured too but nobody used that as an excuse for his poor shooting.
Also Noah is injured and look how well he played. If Tyson played as half as good we would be up in this series.

Do they have the same injury? Do you even know what Noah's injury is? Medically can they cover up the injury? Does Melo have the same injuries as Tyson?
So your point is moot and comparison is irrelevant.
I know my dude was injured for months. I know my dude played in a small line up with no help in a back up at center or legit power forward until Kenyon arrived. Tyson did his thing sucked it up played when he shouldnt have because there was no one else. When did Tyson come back to play Clutch? Let's start using some common sense here people. Start putting 2 and 2 together.
You can play hurt you're not suppose to play injured. He has and getting criticized for it.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Noah has plantar fasciitis. That's an injury...not being hurt.
Also, we kept both Earl Barron and Q. Solomon Jones was the one they let go.
That being said, Tyson Chandler hasn't shown me anything for me to believe his play would have been any different whether he's 100% or not. All but one year of his career, Tyson Chandler's production has DECREASED from the regular season to the post season. And that season was NOT the championship year. It was actually his first trip to the playoffs. Should I post the stats again?

I know what Noah's injury is I asked Clutch and still it has nothing to do with Tyson. It still a dumb comparison.
Yeah I saw that Barron was still here after I posted.
I dont care what his career numbers as a Knick are, as if he has been on this team for years before this year it was against Miami :facepalm . Defense doesnt always show up in stats. This series right now that you all a bitching about is what is up for discussion. Having watched both series and it just dawned on me the last game that he and some other players just arent moving the same.
So considering that he didnt play for almost a month or so because he was injured was there a miracle that he came back healthy for the playoffs in the slightest? No, how do I know because you can see that he just cant move from jump street.
He is gutting it out and I stand by that. If he didnt play who was? Amare, Camby, Wallace, Kurt Thomas, Barron, Solomon? If he didnt play he would have been crucified.
You all make as many post as you like. I am going to back my dude as a Knick fan. I know the guy aint right and if no one else sees it so be it.
Eventually common sense will hit someone here and I know I am not the only one that is observant. His neck and bulging disk is why he cant play right.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Actually, defense does show up in the stats. It shows up in block shots, defensive rebounds, the man you're guarding's numbers and shooting % etc.
Maybe I would have some sympathy and believe he's only playing poorly because of injury if I hadn't seen the same thing I've complained about all season. He didn't show up last playoffs either. I've been saying he's overrated all year. My opinion of Tyson Chandler has been the same since the day we signed him. He's overrated and overpaid. Him being exposed in the playoffs is just the icing on the cake...not the actual batter.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Chandler wasn't great again tonight but I will say to things. #1 He played very good defense down the stretch of the game. #2 His 4th and 5th foul were absolute, Grade A BS! Especially the 4th foul. He got grabbed and they called a foul on him. There was very little contact, but if you're going to call that ticky tac crap, at least get the right guy for the foul. It's hard to get going when the refs are calling BS like that. I mean really, I thought the refs were bad on both ends. Let em play zebras.

The one thing I loved from Chandler tonight was him dropping Lance Stephenson on his ass.
Kid tried to punk Tyson literally and the team figuratively going for that dunk.

Re: Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his
Tyson Chandler has sucked for the Knicks and it has nothing to do with his health.
His lack of offensive understanding and skill has been a total hindrance to the team. Defensively it's being made clear what he is, an average at best 1v1 defender and a SLIGHTLY above average help defender but entirely over-rated pick and roll defender.

I somewhat agree. However, I actually think it's the other way around. I think he's a slightly above average 1 on 1 defender and an average at best help defender. Personally, I WISH I saw what you see. I'd much rather a solid help defender in a center than a 1 on 1 defender. There aren't many centers to defend. My biggest disappointment with Chandler is that he doesn't protect the rim like everyone says he does. Far too many times, I see guards drive the lane and go right at him and he backs down. Nobody fears Tyson Chandler when they go to the hole. And THAT is the main reason why I never liked the signing.

Do I even need to comment? :oldlol:
All I'm going to say is
Tyson Chandler 2 points 6 rebounds ZERO blocks
Roy Hibbert 21 points 12 rebounds 5 blocks
Made Roy Hibbert look like Chamberlain. If this series wasn't the biggest campaign to trade this scrub, I don't know what is. lol That is all. Good night!
