Magic
Kareem.

Go check out Bill's averages and you'll see why this is a dumb vote. The only thing he has under his belt is rebounding and 10 rings.
Kareem

what about being the anchor for the 8 best defensive teams in league history (58, 64, 57, 65, 61, 60, 59, 62 BOS)?

:lol :confusedshrug:
It's pretty close between Bill Russell and Magic Johnson, but Russell's vastly superior defensive value outweighs Magic's playmaking. A lot of people don't appreciate the magnitude of 11 rings. ELEVEN FRICKIN CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! For 8 straight seasons the Boston Celtics, anchored by Russell, didn't lose a single playoff series. Eight whole years without losing in the post season. Not only was Russell the greatest defense/rebounding/shot blocking combo in NBA history (And it's not remotely close), he was the ultimate 'winner'. The Celtics were one of the greatest dynasties in professional sports history BECAUSE of Russell, NOT the other way around.
I vote for Bill Russell.
Incidentally, Chamberlain and Kareem have NO business what so ever at being ranked this high. We can start talking about, and ranking them once Russell and Magic are out of the way.

The GOAT laker, Kareem
