John Wall
Lol. John Wall is a low rider. Only verticals 36/37 inches. Anything above that is hype. His long arms help..... but his head is waaaay below the rim on his dunks.

Re: THIS PICTURE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! .... Shannon Brown's head is
Regarding Shannon Brown having a 44.5 vertical. Those numbers change. Some athletes getter better and go higher. Shannon is now a Cannon. Taking off like few others.
Simple math says that if you are 6'3" but your head is even or (as has been reported) above the rim, you have to be getting up atleast around 47 or 48 inches.

Actually to be head even with the rim at 6'3" you need a 45 inch vertical

So if Shannon's head is above the rim, what would that make it?
And does that mean that Lebron, who is 5 inches taller than Shannon and is said to have a 44 inch vertical.... does that mean that when Lebron has his head even with the rim, that Lebron actually has a maximum vertical of only 39 inches???
Not saying I know the answer. But it stands to reason that you have to subtract inches off of Lebron's vertical due to his height advantage.... or add those inches to Shannon's. You can't have it both ways.
In other words, if both Lebron and Shannon can rise rim high, and Lebron has a 44 inch vertical but is 6'8".... then you have to add 5 inches to Shannon's vertical because Shannon is 6'3"..... that would make Shannon's vertical 48 or 49 inches.
Either that, or reduce Lebron's max vertical to 39 inches.
hmmmm idk why he only cleared Spud by half a foot????
Maybe cause Spud Webb is 5'7 and Dwight Howard is 6'11!!!
? So if he only cleared Spud Webb by half a foot, than he can jump over someone who is 6'1"...not someone 10 inches taller...

Where are you getting that number lol

Apparently the NBA leads youtube in Blocks lol.. I'm in the United States, Michigan to be precise. What are they gaining by blocking youtube clips? So random.
Re: THIS PICTURE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! .... Shannon Brown's head is
Jump with head start > vert.
I'd say Shannon's jumping ability is the same as LeBron's, or better by 1-2 inches. Lebron definitely got higher on that oop in Portland than anything Brown has done. But Shannon is shorter.

Those are both verticals.
Re: THIS PICTURE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! .... Shannon Brown's head is

It is simple MATH.
The poster said that Shannon being 6'3" rising "rim high" would mean that he has exactly a 45 inch vertical.
Well, Lebron being 6'8" rising "rim high" is said to have a 44 inch vertical.
Lebron = 6'8" = 44 inch vertical
Shannon = 6'3''= 45 inch vertical
Lebron & Shannon= both can leap rim high or above
Equals = something is wrong... either Lebron does not vert 44 or Shannon is verting 48/49
I believe Lebron does leap 44 inches.... so that would mean that Shannon (who is 5 inches shorter) is leaping 48/49 inches
You have to subtract or add for the height difference
Does that sound about right? How can both, rising rim high, only be 1 inch apart in their vertical leap..... when there is a 5 inch height difference?
So either Lebron has a 39 inch vertical.... meaning, minus the height difference between him and Shannon. Or, Lebron has a 44 inch vertical, and Shannon has a 49 inch vertical.

Oh.... I hear you. I thought it was kind of like common knowledge that Lebron has a 44 inch vert. Or atleast that is what I have been hearing.

I've looked it up and the only website even reporting it has no source for it.
Re: THIS PICTURE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! .... Shannon Brown's head is
No way Lebron has a 44 inch vertical. He is 40-41 inches at best.
Shannon Brown is 45-46 inches at best too. There is no clip on youtube that shows him get his head over the rim other than the clips with a bad camera angle. People talk about 50 inches vertical like its nothing. No one in NBA history achieved that.
Take a look at this vid and especially at the 0:48 minute mark. Thats what a 48-49 inch vertical looks like

:lol
he got white man ups :lol
the only person to ever have a 50" vert in the nba is probably james white ... and thats only if he takes off on 1 leg ...
Re: THIS PICTURE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! .... Shannon Brown's head is
In terms of the dunk contest, Shannon will no doubt have a great chance, if not the overall favorite, HOWEVER, a higher vertical should be expected for a smaller player, and it is required to compete in the dunk competiton, or it wouldn't be close. With a few extra inches and a lot longer arms, Demar and Gerald would run away if it weren't for the shorter competitors higher ups. The higher ups are impressive but shouldn't be the be determinate of who will win.
