Jeanie Buss is not feeling this team

As I have said many times before, Jeanie Buss should be running this team.

Horrible article. I love how he dismisses everything Buss says and keeps inserting his opinion over hers.

I wonder how this happens? He decides he's going to write an article on why Jeanie should run the team because he dislikes Jim and come up with a series of questions for her then when she doesn't answer the way he needs her to he blindly ignores her answers and keeps plodding along his misguided path.

Fact is she has no more reason running the team than Jim does. She's said numerous times over the years she wants nothing to do with the basketball side of the game and she has no interest in doing it. She's admitted she knows nothing of how it works nor wants to. She leaves that to her father and brother and does what she's best at and enjoys the most, running the business side of the team.

Jeanie has been PC when publicly commenting on whether she should be running the team or not. This is the right thing for her to do....otherwise there would be chaos. If you anyone really thinks she knows nothing, couldn't run the team or doesn't want it then you really don't know much about her. She's prepped herself to run this team since before her dad even bought it.

It's absolutely retarded that she's on in charge of this team. Great move, Jerry. Thanks for leaving us with some moron who's ego is more important than winning championships.

Jerry bought the team right after she graduated high school in 1979
Jeanie was team manager for most of the school teams......as she had also been in junior high school.......any other questions???

So apparently she is busy feeling Phil instead or vice versa lately...Phil is busy shooting viagra. No wonder it's quiet in the FO.

:oldlol: Haha......no, she was prepping for the day when she would take over the family business since she was very young. She's very much ready now.

I too agree that she would be ready, and probably be a very good owner. Hopefully Jim can at least listen to little sister if he makes some mistakes.

Unfortunately Jimmy doesn't have listening skills.....he thinks he's a genius.

Im sorry if somebody else have posted this link, but this is a very distressing article if its all true

Quote:

In the months leading up to the lockout, the Lakers got rid of assistant general manager Ronnie Lester and most of his scouts. Rudy Garciduenas, the equipment manager for nearly 30 years, was let go. Alex McKechie, a renowned sports science expert, was told to pack up and was quickly scooped up by the Raptors. International scout Adam Fillippi wound up with the Bobcats.

The list goes on. Longtime associates of former coach Phil Jackson were let go as the Lakers tried to "wash off anything that had touched" the decorated coach, a person with ties to the front office said. Brian Shaw, Bryant's preference to succeed Jackson, was interviewed for the job but came away with the clear impression that any efforts to associate himself with Jackson would "hurt him, not help him," a coaching industry source said.

None of these people, who formed what a longtime NBA executive called one of the best front office staffs in the league, was given the courtesy of knowing whether they would be brought back after the lockout ended. Some are still waiting for that phone call.

Joey Buss, another son of the owner who runs the team's D-League franchise, has moved into Jackson's old office. Jesse Buss, 23, who was arrested for alcohol intoxication in Lexington, Ky., on a "scouting" trip in December, has moved into Lester's former office.

Not that anyone supposedly doing scouting or other basketball work is seen much around the team's facilities these days. Jim Buss, who supposedly is the team's director of player personnel, is virtually unreachable -- including by me. He didn't respond to my request for comment through the team's media relations department, and his direct number is not listed in the Lakers directory that is distributed to teams. Even people who work in the basketball operations department have "no clue who's on the staff," said a person with direct knowledge of the organization's structure.

"It would be interesting to find out who's doing the scouting," the person said.

Kupchak tried to fight to keep his staff, and his efforts were appreciated by some and viewed as not enough by others. The GM is "on an island by himself," said another person familiar with the situation.

"He doesn't know who to trust anymore," said another.

The advance pro scout, Clay Moser, was brought on board by coach Mike Brown. Of the three college scouts listed in the Lakers' media guide, Ryan West -- Jerry's son -- is the only one with a rsum and a workload. The others are Jesse Buss, who's currently unable to travel due to an injured leg, and a guy known throughout the organization simply as "Chaz." His name in the media guide is Charles Osborne, and supposedly he's a nice guy.
The writer reiterated last night at 710 am radio that it doesn't bother him that the Buss brothers are occupying the offices once occupied by Phil and Ronnie but the fact that Jim Buss did not even replace the really good guys he let go by competent personnel. How Jim does not have any relationship with other team's VP's and GMs.

The article forgot to mention that the lakers are looking pretty good recently too.
