lmao, bye bye, Ibaka.
There is really no point in signing this guy.
Sheesh, like they needed more size. Nice pickup though.
Perfect example of why not to draft a guy off of size and potential alone.
Not a bad signing for OKC. Maybe he can make something of himself there.
Still no low post scorer signed. OKC's FO blows.
Can he score in the low post?

:oldlol:
Yeah they're so bad.
Thabeet wins Most Improved next season.
what a scrub

He is going to be the 3rd string center, for less than our current 3rd string center, Nazr Mohammed. If it';s for the minimum, for a player with his amount of experience that is only ~900k. It's low risk, potentially high reward. I think he;ll jump Aldrich in the rotation soon enough.

This. It's not a good or bad signing. It's just....a signing. It's not like we could go out and afford a low-post scorer anyway and it does not mean we won't attempt to keep Ibaka. It is what it is, signing a 3rd string center for cheaper than the current 3rd string center.

7-3 center Hasheem Thabeet agrees to two-year deal with @okcthunder, source tells Y! Second overall pick in 2009 draft joining his 4th team.
i hope he can make some sort of impact, though i doubt it
:confusedshrug: How is that gonna help them? They still need a viable post option and I doubt Thabeet will fit that build.
lmao, bye bye, Ibaka.
This has absolutely zero influence on what will happen with Ibaka.
Can he score in the low post?
stop trolling
All he has to do is grab 5 boards and block a shot or 2 and he will be the perfect backup C. Imagine pairing him with Ibaka, no one will be able to drive on them.

Thabeet is young. Young is always better. Thabeet > Nash.

if anything.
having another African teammate should make Ibaka happy.
maybe playing with Perkins and Ibaka will shape Thabeet game out a bit.

Should've been clear to NBA execs that he was going to be a bust when Dajuan Blair harassed him in college:

how many minutes of game time has this kid logged in the past few years? if he were about 6'10", he'd be outta the league by now.
More size and depth. Can't hurt. :applause:

WTF happened to Blair's post game? Those were some sweet post moves right there! :facepalm
First it was Kareem...then Hakeem...now it's Hasheem's time to shine

This.
Why are thunder fans acting like Thabeet is going to do anything but sit on the bench? He's garbage.
JUST because he's 7'3 doesn't "Add length". I mean, I hope he does well but he hasn't shown anything that would warrant him being a role player in this league.
LMAO and did someone seriously make some African connection with Ibaka/Thabeet?

That's what every other team thought too :lol
It seems like a waste of a signing/roster spot to me.
Why is this a Sticky?
Why is this a Sticky?
Owner felt bad for the Nash-to-LA sticky frenzy and is trying to appease to the common, non-Laker fans.

The majority of thunder fans don't expect him to be anything more than a 3rd center for a better price than Nazr Mohammed.
$880,000
you can't beat that price

Any word on Fisher yet?
Meh low risk, potentially decent results signing. He's definitely a better player than what he's shown in his first few seasons. OKC could make him a decent roleplayer.
Looks like the Thunder are now. . .
the team Thabeet.
