Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Wow.
That was his value? Knicks couldn't have given up Tim Hardaway?
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Jason Thompson is the Kings PF correct? I think Williams should be seeing a lot more playing time now...
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Pending a physical on Luc (knee)
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Makes sense for the Wolves, who need some defense. Kings probably unhappy that they almost resembled a basketball team with Moute starting. I guess the Kings will throw in something else.
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
dammit Luc is now demoted back to a Prince again

like thomas robinson got?
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Kings did really well out of that. Unless there's picks to follow or fillers?
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
He should get an opportunity to play some mins... Good trade for both sides

I read on another site that cannot be mentioned that the Knicks offered up Shumpert. but who knows
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Hopefully he gets some playing time then..
Wolves need to ship Shabazz also

I think Adelman might have taken a real hardline approach on D-Will and he never fully bought into it. That's my opinion.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
i just can't understand why the wolves didn't make a package like this
derrick williams + alexey shved + shabazz + a pick for nice good player that could really help wolves in the playoffs. a sf or something that is relevant and good.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Goodness, LUC MBAH FCKING MOUTE? Presti should've jumped all over this. Could have gave up a combination of Thabeet and Roberson or some shit like that. Dude would've thrived alongside Russ and KD.

I agree.
It makes you wonder if these GM's are doing their job AT ALL TIMES.
Like, if your job is to manage and find talent for your team, surely you would know opportunities like this are out there?
Hell, the Bulls could of used him too. :banghead:

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Wanted the Sixers to get him. Ah well. Dont know why, figure this team has lots of minutes for him to get. Brown is a good coach. I would have given up Thaddeus Young for Derrick Williams. Probably doesnt work salary wise but you get the point.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
it's like the thomas robinson acquisition dirt cheap and I'm not saying that because luc is black

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
Deng for Williams and salary filler?

Moute is a top defensive player. Thabeet is not. I don

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
LRMAM is elite defender this season he's done good jobs on Cp3, LMA and Marc Gasol sad to see him go, but the Kings need a SF who can score adn Derrick Williams has enough tools to be decent on defense good trade both ways, good luck to Prince in Minny.
Hopefully if Williams pans out we can land Exam or Smart in the draft as the starting PG
PG:Exam/Smart
SG:Mclemore
SF:Derrick Williams
PF: hopefully we trade for a shot blocker
C: Cuz
6th man : IT
Not bad at all I must say

I'm sure he is. Bet 90% of ISH didn't even know he was on Sacramento. Thought this scrub was still on Milwaukee. But anyway to boost this trade for your team (assuming you're a Wolves fan?), do as you wish.
[QUOTE]Thabeet is not. I don

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
i really thought he was worth more than this

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
So he's going to enter the PF rotation with Thompson and Patterson? Or they are going to try and have him play SF?

SF why would they give up a our starting SF to play him @PF with Patterson/Thompson/Hayes and Landry when he comes back. Imo this move will lead to Patterson most likely being moved since Williams can pretty much do everything Patterson can while being able to play the 3 as well.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
I don't think he can effectively play the 3. Suspect handles and too slow to defend the quick wing players.
-

You serious? Why would they? Hardaway has played much better than Williams.

The Kings must think he can plus they only need him to be a catch n shoot/ catch n cut guy which imo with his body control and athletic ability he can. I seen himplay great D on Kevin Durrant earlier this season so there is some hope for him, he's going to get lots of playing time to see what he's got.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
In the Derrick Williams draft, the Hawks wanted Enes Kanter. The Hawks offered Josh Smith for the no. 2 overall pick, and the Wolves said no.
Rubio-Smith-Love-Pekovic
Oops.

Not sure if I would have done that deal on draft night either, Williams was always talked of as a tweener but he also looked like he should develop into a better player than smith is. But in hindsight yeah terrible move.

Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
he'll probably look prettty good paired with vasquez. which is good for the kings, since vasquez has looked like shit a majority of the games sans his automatic right handed floater.
however, we've all seen how williams plays when given minutes and is a 1st or second option. somewhere along the lines of 14 ppg and 6 or 7 boards. of course, that was him playing the 4 when love was out. im actually interested to see how he fits at the 3. but like some have said, hes pretty slow footed on the perimeter, so the kings would benefit from acquiring some sort of defensive minded 4 to help control the paint.

Should look to trade for Asik and move Cousins to his natural position PF.
-
Re: Derrick Williams to Sacramento
and on the other side of the trade, why does minny do this? corey brewer has been great at the 3, and budinger is right around the corner from the return of his injury. maybe luc is strictly a back up 4 for love?

would be amazing to see cousins and asik together. two huge bodies that would clog up the paint from other teams driving. offensively it should work too since cousins is so offensively gifted. but hed probably shoot even more jumpers than he does now

Can't have everything plus Asik is a good offensive rebounder so that's fine

Budinger can play the 2 and Luc can defend multiple positions.
