You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Too many missed scoring opportunities and it is so demoralizing. Lakers will regret it if they max this guy out

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Laker stans act like they didn't know he has always been bad with freethrows, the same with Shaq. Learn to live with it or maybe you shouldn't have traded for him at all.
:facepalm

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
We've lost like 6 games cuz of his FT shooting, how the FVCK do you go 3-14 while missing like 10 in a row?!!!

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Howard is just not a good offensive player. Hell, he's flat out bad on that end of the floor.
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
He's the NBA's best center playing with a bad shoulder and recovering from back surgery.
Maybe if fans/media realized that and lowered expectations for him his mind would be in a better place.

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Even if he would have hit most of his FTs tonight Lakers would have not won.

you cannot equate the intangibles involved in those misses though. Its demoralizing on offense and gives other teams confidence. Its more than just 11 missed free throws

That's not what I said jackass.
He's the NBA's best center playing with a bad shoulder and recovering from back surgery.
Which is correct. He has been the best center until he got injured.
But you are one of the jackass TMZ casual fans I am talking about.
Seriously Laker fans, get real.
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
They gave up 119, including 33 fast break points.
The Lakers have bigger problems than Dwight's free throw shooting.
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
IDK if he'll ever be the same as he was pre injury.
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Howard made it to the Finals with a weak supporting cast.

This.
And to the guy saying we Laker fans are "acting" like we didn't know he was a bad freethrow shooter, of course we knew about it, we are just fed up right now. Maybe we shouldn't of traded for him? Hmmm, I didn't realize it was up to the fans.......

Don't worry. Free tacos and a cup of Mr.Jabbar's tears tonight on the championship flight.

Maybe we still lose but we'd have had a chance to win! If Dwight makes even half his fts, the game is totally different. I'd like to have seen Denver play with some pressure but Dwight didn't even give us a chance.

And Kobe only won these last 2 championships because of HOFers Gasol, Bynum, and Odom, right?
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
You can have Howard's crappy free throw shooting or you can have horrible defense, but you can't have both and expect to win.
-

iverson made it to the finals with a weak supporting cast too. should the lakers max out iverson too?
-
Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
So? Denver as a team missed just as much as Howard did, it cancels each other out. Lakers lost today cause of their garbage defense. 80 something points in the paint.:wtf:

I'm usually against the Dwight scapegoating but 3/14 is hilariously bad FT shooting. :lol

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
Shaq was a perennially bad FT shooter. It didn't stop him or his teams to win titles. It won't stop him from getting into the HOF.

I'll take those three over Nelson, Turk and Shard.

And if you don't sign him to the max you're left with Nash/Kobe/Gasol/trash with no assets and no money flexibility. You'd better hope Kupchak isn't that stupid...

His whole reputation is based on one fluke year, 4 years ago, and his game has not improved at all sense then and his work rate has gone down.

Re: You just can't have a "star" shooting FTs this badly in today's NBA.
How can people still keep saying hes the best Centre in the NBA, hes been crap this year, his stats "look" good but if you actually watch games other than spoon feed dunks the dude can't do anything. On top of that he goaltends so many shots that are going to miss and well the free throw shooting is just :facepalm.
Him having a bad back does not make him a woeful passer, have crap hand and cause his to making low IQ plays every 2nd possesion. Zero creativity on offense and hes still easily the most physically capable centre in the NBA injured or not. He looked fine that other game when he went for 20+ points running all around while getting easy buckets non stop.

Actually that team was pretty good. Won 59 games. Nearly lead the league in Three's. In the playoffs, Howard lead his team in scoring in about half the games.
Howard -- 20/11/1.4
Rashard -- 18/6/ 3 three's a game
Turkoglu -- 17/5/5
Nelson -- 17/5
Alston -- 12/5
Pietrus -- 9/3/ 2 three's a game

I never understand why people base guys off of reputation instead of hardcore facts/stats. Boggles my mind.
