The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
Thursday we get to see where the next great player will end up.
I am really hoping the Bulls pull off that Wizards trade and take him because the prospects of cheering for Washington, Phoenix or Charlotte is quite depressing.
Perhaps a trade up by the Craptors to take the hometown boy? The thought of cheering for that team disgusts me, but Bennett would make them interesting.
Where will AB go? I think fifth is the worst, and I think a lot of people will be regretting their picks as he will end up the best player in this group.

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I see him being a Paul Millsap type player in the league. Very talented offensive player. Very suspect defense.
Definitely a Top 6 player in this draft, imo, but there are several guys I'd take over him... Noel, Porter, Oladipo, Len.
-
Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I like him as a prospect, but his laziness is concerning. I don't think at 6'7'' and 240+ he's not necessarily undersized but he's not going to be shooting over the top like he was in college. the situation he goes to is going to be really important.

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
This'll either get bumped in a year or two and people will say OP was genius, or people will laugh at him. Hopefully the latter. I think he can be a good starter in the league. Millsap, like RBA said. I'll make sure to be that guy who bumps it.
-
Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I made basically the same thread last week, he'll be the best player in the draft. Apparently he's gained 18 pounds since his shoulder surgery though :oldlol:

hes 6'7 in shoes. he would be one of the shortest power forwards drafted in the top 15 in a long time. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/?year=All&sort2=DESC&draft=15&pos=4&source=All&sort=3
hes al thornton, dejuan blair, wes johnson height.
hes reportedly pretty out of shape for these interviews. chad ford said 18 lbs heavier. i know hes injured at the moment, but im sure he could cycle on a stationary bike.
hes definitely got talent, but he has his red flags.

Chad Ford said he's at 260 now weight wise which is overweight.

Wow...he needs to drop about 20 pounds

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
Bennett might be the biggest 6'7'' guy I've ever seen. I have no doubt he can bang in the post in the NBA. Watched a UNLV pre-game shootaround + game live and he reminded me of an athletic version of Zach Randolph.

Oh shhiiiiiit that lineup looks sick as fuuukkkkk....
Oh nevermind, Bennett is not a small forward and Varejao is not a starting Center in this league.

A chubby version of prime Antawn Jamison is his peak.

You're right, yet somehow Miami beat San Antonio with Bosh at centre and Mike Miller at the 4, or was it Bron 4 with Miller at the 3?
Why don't you take your dumb ass rhymes and f*ck off back to Akron with your 1992 version of what a team should look like.
"He's not a true four or a true three, WTF WE GUNNA DO!?!?!?!?"
You dumbass, its 2013, you need athletes, shooters and rebounders to win in the NBA.
traditional positons...:facepalm
Stick to wack rhymes over lames ass beats and don't come crawlin back when the Cavs are ballin

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I think the Cavs could put a really interesting small ball lineup on the court.
Irving
Waiters
Gee
Bennett
Thompson
Could definitely give teams fits in short bursts on the offensive end.

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I liked the pick a lot. No idea how you can fault Cleveland for going for the home run. I had Noel pegged to Cleveland like most, but didn't a reason for the hate they got when Bennett was the guy. The consensus #1 and #3 players went 6 and 7 in the draft. Who knows where Bennett gets drafted if Cleveland didn't take him? I mean, Cody Zeller went before McClemore and Noel :oldlol:

Noel is the homerun, not Bennett.
Noel was the most impactful player in college basketball when he got injured. And to think he's a full year younger than Bennett.
Philly fukkin stole that dude. :oldlol:

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I'm on the bandwagon. Love the pick!! I think he is gonna be better than Paul millsap. He isn't great on defense but we have a great coach that specialiZes on defense.

Same thing people said about waiters Thompson and irving(pleezebelieve) and every pick was a home run. People so quick to hate on Cleveland when everyone we have picked in the last two years made an all rookie team.

Ok, then insert some other garbage wing player on the Cavs.
edit: Or they could go with
Irving
Waiters
Bennett
Thompson
Zeller
The way the rotation are handled on that team will be interesting to watch.

No one said Waiters or Irving would be busts. And who the hell is Thompson? He's a nobody.
This guy is the Thomas Robinson of the draft. Remember Derrick Williams? Cleveland is tanking it another year to get Wiggins.

So many people said we should take Derrick Williams and that Irving woułd bust. Thompson is garbage? You obviously don't watch Cleveland. He is awesome. And practically everyone said waiters would bust even though he is gonna be a top three player in that class. People love hating on Cleveland though. It almost laughable how much people make up just hate in the cavs.

Why would anyone hate Cleveland. That implies that people care about the city and franchise. I think people expect the franchise to be smart.

Comment of a hater. Make false statements about Cleveland players being garbage with nothing to back it up. Gets called out as a hater. Denies being a hater with a comment that directly coralates with hating.:lol

RoseCity, you normally don't suck this hard as a poster, are you fighting substance abuse problems as of late?
Thompson put up 11.7 and 9.4 in his second year and is only 22.
Kyrie Irving is a top ten and only 21. And the rumblings pre draft was he was fat and injury prone (sound familiar).
Bennett is 20, a top character and team guy, has a 7'1" wingspan, dunk contest winning athleticism, can run all day and is built like a brick shit house. Add to that his offensive rebounding abilities, amazing footwork, inside out game and his well above average jumper (something he can build to unstoppable levels) and there are very few players on the planet who bring that much to the table. He could end up being Charles Barkley when all is said and done.
Plus Waiters is only 21 and a nice piece too. This team will be special, Dan Gilbert will be vindicated.
-
Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
how do you see bennett and tristan playing together though?
they would be the shortest bigman duo in the league, or bennett will be one of the heaviest SF in the league (maybe the heaviest, not sure)

I liked Irving and waiters. I was wrong about Thompson but still. 10 and 10 isn't amazing for such a bad team. You think this kid is Charles Barkley? That's quite a stretch. This is the nba man. The best of the best. It's not going to be a cake walk.
-
Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
This was a bold number 1 pick to say the least.
I struggle to see how two PF's will work for Cleveland. I could be wrong, but height does count for something. However, his body size is definately imposing and he has skills to be a very good player.
I see Cavs making the playoffs this year, with the improvement of Irving alone.
I suppose you couldn't do worse than picking thabeet number 3 a few years back

You don't understand the use of the word 'could'? Why are posters willfully ignorant of the meaning of the sentences one types when offering a rebuttal?

Re: The Anthony Bennett Bandwagon Thread...Sign up at the door
I love the pick, Bennett is going to be a monster.
when you watch the guy play, he stands out. immediately you ask "damn, who is that guy?"
That guy is a beast named Anthony Bennett. The main criticism is his height, but his arms are super long and he is extremely broad and strong. Not only is he capable of banging in the post in the NBA, he is going to f*** people up. Personally I see him as a power forward, not a small forward-- and if that means out with Tristan Thompson, then so be it.
Bennett is a beast.
In the future, we will look back at Bennett as the clear-cut best player from this draft. And after 20 games next season, the Cavs front office will look brilliant.
