Re:
I've never seen a Bollywood flick, but I think there a bit overated. It seems like the people who like them are the type who like the most unusual things because their not popular, and you sound cooler if you say that you prefer Indian films over Hollywood.
While we're talking about films "Lost in Translation" and "The Big Lebrowski" are some of the most overated films.
-
I saw 'The Big Lebowski' for the first time yesterday.
One of the funniest films I've ever seen.
In terms of pure filmmaking and screenwriting, yes, you're right... It's very overrated. Because in the hands of any other cast it'd likely be a disaster. But, Jeff Bridges and John Goodman breathed some kind of incredible life into that material, IMO.
So hilarious!

Re:
As for the Bollywood chicks, I'm not into Gypsies. Yes it sounds racist, but growing up around a lot of gypsies has made me have a great distaste towards them.

i watched both, then slapped the friend who recommended it to me in the back of the head. i then told him to give me back the last 4 hours of my life back. he couldn't... so i smacked him again!

how do you associate indians with gypsies?
-
Speaking of overrated films, 'Mystic River' and 'A History of Violence' are two of the most overrated films I've seen in recent times.
Critics went nuts praising David Cronenberg for making a "normal" film and heaped far too much hype on 'AHOV'... Very very disappointing.

Gypsies are commonly refered to Middle-Eastern nomadic people in the Balkans (Balkans refers to countries such as Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Serbia) - a region where everyone hates one another.
But, where I come from these Gypsies, who are believed to be from mostly of Indian descent, are usually beggars, scam artist, and part of the lower class.
Even when I see Indian people in America, I just refer to them as Gypsies, and thus, the stereotypes and stigmas about them come into mind. I know its stupid to have a bad stereotype about them, but I would be lying if I told you if I didn't hink this way.

lol...you might be better served not to say that kinda stuff in public.
Considering you wouldn't wanna get the living shiiiit beat outa you.

Atleast those were bearable movies/decent movies. Lost in Translation was plain terrible, and The Big Lebrowski were stupid. These are the type of movies people like just so they can sound cool, but deep down inside they know these movies are terrible.

I know, but its the internet, for all you know I could be lying. Plus, I live in America, only closet racism is acceptable:cool:
