Hehe yep... Russell is kindof a partypooper in that department... :)
Russell > Hondo > Horry > Kareem > Kobe > Duncan > Bird > Lebron > Dirk > Barkley
Makes sense to me. :confusedshrug:

1. Bill Russell - 11
2. Sam Jones - 10
3. John Havlicek - 8
4. Tom Heinsohn - 8
5. KC Jones - 8
6. Tom Sanders - 8
7. Jim Loscutoff - 7
8. Frank Ramsey - 7
9. Robert Horry - 7
10. Bob Cousy - 6
Funny thing is most of these players got all those rings playing with Bill Russell / 60s Celtics. So not only did Russell produce most rings for himself... but for others aswell.... now that is a winner lol
Kobe snubbed

Nah, I think might have been another site, not ISH.
Carry on, although I've just never really taken Magic's words as much to think about. He's a nice man, but doesn't really think things through.
EVEN IF HE Only means stars wELL mAGIC ISNT TOP 3 THEN EITHER
1-Bill Russell
2-Kareem Abdul-Jabaar
3-Michael Jordan
Since rings are all that matter to Magic when it's convenient
Magic STILL isn't even top 3
11
6
6
That beats 5 EVERY SIngle Time

Fixed.
What was Lebron's original tweet?
What was Lebron's original tweet?
Not exactly a tweet, but that's what Magic responded too.
What was Lebron's original tweet?
It was no tweet, it was a interview on TV last month, reporter asked him who he thinks are the 3 greatest players of all time, he said Jordan, Dr. J & Bird...
EDIT: Yea, take a look at that video provided above.
When i think about Magic probably just mentioned the rings of those 4 players Lebron did mention, he did pick Magic at #4 there at the end afterall.
I hope thats the case, if not... then he has discredited many greats (especially Russell, Kareem).
I dont like Lebrons top 3 either, dont know what he was thinking... i mean Dr. J at top 2? Hah.....
Meh, who cares, i blame off-season...

It's funny he didn't name a single big in his top 3.

But not Horry.
Horry > every Celtic but Russell

Horry greater than Hondo? :confusedshrug:

Maybe. 7 > 2 + 6*?
I'm not sure how Magic handles those scenarios.
Dr. J really has no case at all for top 3. But Magic really shoudn't b so butthurt. The guy played on disgustingly stacked teams his whole career.

You're right, Lebron should have mentioned Wilt instead.
Magic says some dumb shit
Nice jab at Kobe.
Not a jab at Kobe.
Lebron put MJ, Bird, and Dr. J as his Top 3 GOAT.
Magic responded, saying that rings are what matter and then gave the ring counts of himself, Lebron, and the 3 players Lebron mentioned as his Top 3.
If rings ar all that matter then Robert Horry>> Magic Johnson. And Bill Russell>>Everyone else.
Wilt chamberlin is a sad zombie
love how everyone responds to the ring argument with "Horry > everyone". Typical.
If you guys have any common sense or logic, you'd know that Magic's talking about ring counts for all time great players. How the f(ck is Horry an all time great player?
:oldlol:
LeBron was asked who the "Best 3" Players were. I don't know if his answer changes if he's asked who the "Greatest 3" are, but I think a distinction could be made between "Best" and "Greatest". Surely LeBron knows Magic's legacy is more illustrious than Dr. J's even though Dr. J may arguably be more talented.
:confusedshrug: I don't see this as news worthy. Was expecting more when I came in the thread.
Some of you guys can make shit out of Clorox.

What I love about him picking Dr. J is that he obviously doesn't spend time on the internet on internet forums, else his picks would have been polluted.

Good eye. Even I wasn't noticing that. He's talking about the people involved in the dumb controversy.

It's somewhat newsworthy, but there had to have been a thread made on this when the story first broke.
It makes some sense if LeBron was talking about non-bigs, since I'd imagine they're who he compares himself to/is compared to the most often. In that case, I don't see anything wrong with his top 4, if he's counting ABA=NBA (which was true when Dr. J played in the ABA, most likely) and ignoring bigs (you'd expect him to name Oscar too and maybe Kobe if he named two more players).
Shaq was the same way iirc. He always compares himself to the great centers (and PFs, since he's mentioned Duncan) we've seen. Not surprising, and it makes sense.
Pauk called Magic Johnson a ring chaser by being drafted by the Lakers
Lebron actually said that Magic was nr 4.
Come on, let's get serious. I respect Bill Russell and all he accomplished but you guys believe those 60's Celtics would beat any of the modern era champions? Heinsohn, Cousy wouldn't even be starters nowadays:oldlol:
Russell's 11 rings have about the same weight of a threepeat today, IMO.

C'mon man.

Dude, the NBA was garbage back then compared to the modern era. Can you imagine Gary Payton on Bob Cousy:oldlol: Shaq would destroy Russell, no joke.
