NEVER scored in a World Cup Knock out game.
Even Matthew Upson has done it.

So which would be more devastating, Argentina or Germany winning?
He doesn't need to save himself for anything he has already a$s pounded Real Madrid numerous times...
Just like Ronaldo
Messi '14 will be remembered like Maradona '86.
Messi saved argentina in game 1 vs Bosnia (great gol)
Messi saved argentina in game 2 vs iran (great clutch goal)
Messi saved argentina in game 3 vs nigeria (2 great goals)
Messi saved argentina in game 4 vs switzerland (clutch dribble and assist in goal)
Messi played a great solid game in game 5 vs belgium (nearly no mistakes)
Messi player a good game in game 6 vs Netherlands, 2 huge assists to Palacio and Maxi Rodriguez in O.T. and scored his penalty also... (he had 2 or 3 oponnents every single possesion)
Overall he is having a great World Cup (remember argentina is plauing 4.4.2 witout aguero and di maria...really a defensive style...and messi is alone in offense.

When has he done it without a loaded team?:facepalm
Getting force fed the ball don't count.

right now
romero-reserve for monaco
zaba-top 3 RB in the EPL but had an inconsistent season
garay-very good CB, probably the best in the Portuguese league
demichelis-not really the most trustworthy defender, was laughing stock for part of the season
rojo-young and inexperienced, plays CB for his club
masche-barely played DM in the last 4 years but obviously still a top player at that position
biglia-reserve for lazio
perez-another player from the portuguese league, not a game changer
higuain-never a great player but knows his job.. sometimes
lavezzi-good energy guy to have from the bench but not as a starter
they played their hearts out defensively so far, but this is what they are. one tournament wont change that

yes and that is a good squad.

Wishful thinking. Most articles I've seen talk about how anti-Diego '86 his cup has been.
Messi' greatness shines brightest on a ridiculously stacked Barcelona team.
