Is hard.
I mean, not only are the girls unsightly, but I really have trouble with enjoying the game. The girls have decent handles and most have good shooting strokes, but the lack of downlow presence is sad. Ive seen grade 7/8 games with better post presence than this. Also, the passing is very sloppy.
This league has a LOOOOONNNNNGGGG way to go before it is enjoyable. To make it better they need to work on the looks of the girls and dress them in bikinis.
It is understandable. The game is hard for some to watch. For me, I have been a fan of the women's game since 1982, so I love watching it and I am a guy. The bikini idea sounds pretty interesting. But they might go with the spandex uniforms that Team Austraila wears during the summer games. Just keep watching, it will grow on you.:D

Bingo, I knew the spandex uniforms were the way to go (for Summer Olympics and should be used in WNBA).
They need some more Candace Parker...
theres about 2-3 good looking girls on each WNBA team average...so if i do watch the games, i just watch the good looking girls. The teams i like are NY, Indiana, Phoenix, and Washington. But yea they should have it like womens volleyball, a little tighter uniforms...cause the uniforms are too baggy.

Britney Griner will definetely change your down low presence in the league. I can't wait to see her tip it off as a Baylor Bear this upcoming season.

If you think the girls are unsightly, you should look at the monster-men playing in the NBA.
Could those guys make themselves look any uglier?
Forget the tats. Those are just bad art.
But look at the corn-rows. The scruffy whiskers. And the uniforms that look about four sizes too large.
Have you ever seen such a bad hunk of brush under those arms when they go to dunk? Yuchhhhh! Trim that thin!
And with the way they sweat, you can smell them even through the TV set. Man, I don't know how Spike Lee manages to keep from barfing all over the Knicks' feet.
Plus, could the guys put on any uglier expressions. I've seen more pleasant faces on a bunch of inmates in prison.
Compare to the men, the women's game is a pleasure to watch.

You're never going to enjoy women's basketball when you look at it like that.
If you're trying to get into women's BASKETBALL you have to look at the players as BASKETBALL PLAYERS...not as chicks. You shouldn't be into the game for their looks.
If I can do it, so could you.
I haven't followed the WNBA in years, but when I used to I thought it was decent and not what many guys here describe.

I have before ... and I'm being dead serious. I dated a girl who played for my D1 program (she was good) and plays overseas currently, had some WNBA players come up and play with the dudes at our gym and we were murking the hell out of them.
I still like WNBA basketball though
And I would do dirty, un-speakable things to the box inbetween Candice Parker and Sue Bird's legs. So there is certainly eye candy in the WNBA.

I don't understand why it's so hard for some people to fathom that there may actually be some pretty good ballplayers that post on ISH.

We all suck. If you got the 8 best players that post on ISH, they would be doing good to beat a really good JV team in a best of 5 series.
WNBA players are good, and yes, some are probably better than a lot of ISH posters, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say there might be some posters who could/would beat a WNBA player 1-on-1.

I think of myself as a pretty decent player. Played on the highest competition level in my region for 3 years and was one of the top 4 players on my team.
In the same region there was a Women's team which was playing at the national level and we occasionaly would practice with them. I can say here without feeling bad about it, 1v1 I got my ass kicked. It was actually 5v5 where we started to dominate them. We were more physical, faster and could jump higher.
And I think if we took the 8 best players from ISH we'd have a pretty good team. The biggest problem would be where we'd have to practice, people from all over the world here.
I was being sarcastic about that first part. I was a decent high school player. (third option on a state championship team.) We scrimmaged our girl's team (who also won state that year) from time to time. I don't know why really, because we never got anything out of it, but our girls had two D1 players on it and went 6' and 6'2" in the post (which is big for a girl's team) but they were doing good if they scored even one bucket on us. Now 1v1 is a little different. One of the girl's on that team was a top 3 player in the state that year, and her game and flow was more similar to a boy's than a girl. I never played her 1v1 but she would play 21 with 4 or 5 of the guys on our team. She was pretty quick, had a really good handle, and could shoot, but she rarely crac,ed double figures in 21 games where the defense was pretty soft sometimes.
