Who else has trouble deciding what they want to do?

I just graduated from college with a degree in education. Certified to teach k-8. As much as I want to teach, sometimes I feel as if there are a lot of other things I would like to do as well. Like broadcast journalism or something along those lines. I just can't make up my mind. There is so much out there to choose from, and I feel like I can do anything if I put my mind to it. As I currently see it, here are my choices:

-Get a teaching job, kinda settle down a bit, and work in the school system a few years to see how I like it

-Go back to school and get a masters in education, or in something else entirely

-Peace Corps. I would consider this b/c it seems like the best bet to meeting lots of interesting people. Plus, I've never had the opportunity to get out of the country. I went to school and worked 30+ hours a week, so I didn't really get the normal social experience that a lot of other people got in college.

I just can't make up my mind. I have already signed a letter of intent with Baltimore schools. That doesn't bind me to employment. I'm gonna go check them out in a few weeks to get a feel for the system. My friends and family are incredibly biased, so I take what they say with a grain of salt.

What do you guys think? It's HARD deciding what you want to do, unless you're one of those people who knows what they want to do from birth.

If you have no strings to hold you back this is an excellent wat to go, see some new things, do some good, and it gives you a chance to sort out what's important or not...

What are your friends and family saying? You can't let others decide for you, obviously that is easier said than done but only you know what you truly love.

You should give yourself some credit for actually realizing that this may not be what you want out of life. You are still young, explore other options now before you are married with kids and stuck in a job you don't like because it is stable and offers good insurance.

What are some things that you love? interested in?

to some extent this is true and I wouldnt have word it in such a way though... it would be an interesting experience.
i would not suggest you to get a masters in anything until you know what degree you would like to obtain. it could be a waste of money.
teaching allows you to have the same vacations as the students which would allow you to travel and explore... this what i believe the best option for now until you make up your mind and it still allows you to try new things...

i think you should do teaching, settle down, and then see how you like it first

but yea, i used to really doubt what i wanted to do in my first years of college, but now i'm pretty much decided

My family doesn't think that I can handle the responsibilities of teaching, living on my own for the first time, and being in a brand new city. They think it would be overwhelming, all 3 things at once. I know it's bad to be 25 and never on my own, but I always lived close enough to my college that I never felt the need to get a house/apt. in an extremely overpriced marked. I feel they are right, in a way, but this town has nothing to offer me. It's a classic college town, which is great and all, but I would like a more authentic setting with regular people and such.

It's good to have options, so I do recognize the value of choices. Besides teaching, I always thought it would be cool to do something in broadcast journalism. Maybe I should get a masters in that, and then a couple years down the road, I will have two different things to choose from.
