What do you think the best draft year was?
I would go with the 2003 draft. That is the one with Bosh, James, Melo and Wade right? I am only fourteen so I don't know too much about the draft years before I was born. That is the best one that I have seen.

Pointguard01 07-08-2006 02:43 AM

Some of the best are....

1960: Oscar Robertson and Jerry West going 1 and 2, enough said

1984: Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley and John Stockton.

1996: Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Jermaine O'Neal, and Ray Allen

2003: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo Anthony

Ok thanks for the info. Like I said I am only 14 so I don't know too much about the older players draft years.

Young HkM 07-08-2006 04:38 AM

Definately '84. I think '03 has a lot of potential I think it just depends on how well the rest of the class besides LeBron and D-Wade do.

myzt52 07-13-2006 09:20 PM

I definitly think it would have to be 1996:
Allen Iverson, Marcus Camby, Shareef Abdur Rahim, Stephon Marbury, Ray Allen, Antoine Walker, Kobe Bryant, Peja Stojakavic, Steve Nash, Jermaine O'neal, Zydrunas llgauskus..and thats just the first round...

I like the old school 1960 draft (back when only 7 or 8 people were drafted at a time): Oscar Robertson followed by Jerry West.

I really like the 1999 draft:
Elton Brand, Steve Francis, Baron Davis, Wally Szerbiak, Richard Hamilton, Andre Miller, Shawn Marion, Jason Terry, Corey Maggette, Ron Artest, James Posey, Andrei Kirilenko.

A lot of our future superstars have come in the 2003 draft:
Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Chris Kaman, Kirk Hinrich, TJ Ford, Luke Ridnour, David West (Hes getting good), Boris Diaw, Josh Howard (what a steal at pick 29!)

You have to put up here 1984 only because of the four players:
Hakeem Olajawon, Michael Jorgan, Charles Barkley, John Stockton

oldschool32 07-14-2006 10:00 AM

yea 1996 is the best draft class, then 84' than 03.

Bulls_Fan20 07-14-2006 10:33 AM

'84 '96 and '03 are top three no doubt, but don't forget about '85. Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Charles Oakley, Joe Dumars, Chris Mullin, Arvydas Sabonis, Spud Webb, Manute Bol :hammerhead: are all household names, and pretty good players too.

marny_navis 07-16-2006 08:55 PM

You're only 14 Italy? I'm only 13. I like the 2003 draft b/c of Melo, Bosh, Flash, Bron, and Kirk Hinrich. That was the first one that I watched too.

eauclaire447 10-16-2006 05:30 PM

those were the best from every draft

adrenalize 10-16-2006 09:14 PM

1984: Come on, it had Jordan!! However, for me it was also the worst EVER!! Thats when my Blazers picked Sam Bowie over Jordan. I still imagine sometimes a team of Porter, Jordan, Drexler, Kersey and the Duck and what might have been. <sigh>

eauclaire447 10-19-2006 10:51 AM

1970 was a good one too

HippinHoopster 10-23-2006 12:15 AM

I would say the 2003 draft is slowly becoming an up and comer draft with the likes of Lebron, Carmelo, D-Wade, & Bosh.

eauclaire447 10-23-2006 11:36 AM

id say give it a few more years, then i think it will be the best

thirteen 10-24-2006 10:48 PM

gotta be 2003

Sword.Dragons 01-12-2007 08:27 AM

the 2004 draft certainly has what it takes to become one of the most exciting drafts, with Dwight, Okafor, Childress, Livingston, JR and Josh Smith, Gordon and a bunch of other good players still coming through.

But in terms of the best its got to be the 1984, It has 3 future legends in Olajuwon, Jordan and Stockton, it has one guy who would be a great player in Sam Bowie if he hadn't of gotten injured, and you have solid players through out the draft, Kevin Willis player until he was 42 which is huge. That draft is the best ever. The 2003 one is shaping up to be pretty good, but they will probaly end up about the same as the 1984 one, they have the three top guys (Carmelo, LeBron, Dwyane) and they got them solid players (Bosh, Hinrich) but they have some pretty weak picks as well (Darko, Reece Gaines, Hayes, Sweetney).. thats why i think that the 1984 one is better.

laurited 01-14-2007 11:45 AM

I think 2003 class includes 4 Hall of Famers (LeBron, Wade, Carmelo, Bosh).
Bosh is still really young player, and he is improving in daily basis.
If you can averge 20 and 10 for 5-7 years and 1-2 titles also, then you propably are going to be Hall of Famer.
Wade already got Championship and there will like 4-5 years when he is going be in that level. Then propably some athletic goes away and he is going to be the guy, who averges 13points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists for his second part of carreer. But i think he can put together 3-4 Championship titles because he is really smart player.
LeBron is no brainer, probaly he his Hall of Famer already, just needs couple of Championship titles to back this up.
I really feel bad for Carmelo this season, he was playing so well and then it was that brawl. I really hope that he can get back to business with same level what he definetely had before brawl.
Carmelo Anthony needs Championship titles to be Hall of Famer.

And there is also a lot guys who can back this 4 up.

PGs like TJ. Ford, Luke Ridnour, Mo Williams, Kirk Hinrich.

Josh Howard, David West, Chris Kaman, Mickael Pietrus, Boris Diaw, Leandro Barbosa, Luke Walton, Jason Kapono is playing well alongside of Wade.
Kyle Korver is good. Nick Collison is solid.
Darko has definetely talent to be good.

iMakeITrain 01-14-2007 06:29 PM

my favorite draft ever has to be between 1993 and 1996. with 2003 a close third.

i think the worst draft was 2000
