Liivingston's career over?

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/ba...or_knicks.html

Former lottery pick Shaun Livingston will become a free agent next week when the Clippers decline to tender him a qualifying offer. But Livingston, who is still rehabilitating from a devastating knee injury, is too much of a medical risk for a team that is hoping to add a starting-caliber point guard.

If hes still rehabilitating than he probably wont get an offer. He should take a year off and work his ass off add some weight and come back.

don't know if it's over.. he's certainly going to attend plenty of workouts and have his share of doctors and trainers poking at him

this also gets clouded by the fact it could also be a business move by the clipps, instead of giving him the qualifying offer they let others teams set his value then they match it

So will the Clippers even sign him at a reduced rate?

His career is over. The chances of a team being willing to invest a million plus dollars into his comeback are remote.

TJ Ford missed his second season not his contract year. Ford had a contract to fall back on. Shaun Livingston does not.

If he can get healthy he will be back in Feb. Some lottery bound team will sign him and see if he can cut it. Guy just needs to recover his confidence once he's heathly, some team will give him atleast a couple 10 day deals.

I bet he gets the vet minimum somewhere. The risk/reward is too big to not take a chance on him.

He's coming back for the minimum if we get rid of Knight. Dude has been working his ass off to try to get back and I just think it'd be wrong if we don't give him a chance next season

Re: Liivingston's career over?

Obviously a team isnt gonna sign him while hes still rehabilitating but down the road, IF hes healthy, then I'm sure a team could find a spot for him.

If the Clippers go through and make him an unrestricted Free Agent (deny him the qualifying offer), they'll be atleast 20 teams that will call his agent inquiring about his services for the right price. Believe that.

He'll fetch at worst a Lower Level Exception(2yrs 2.5 Million) deal if he passes physical. Someone will bite.

I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't get a contract for the minimum if someone like Penny could get a contract after what happened to him, and what he had to go through.
