Ray Allen and Denzel Washington?

Only thing is, Ray has a young son who's a freshman or sophomore in high school.

By the way, Robert Townsend is directing a new basketball film which should premiere in early 2014.

Ray Allen.

It could be Jesus' life as a vet. it would be cliche if he was mentoring an up and coming player and he guided him through life. It should just be an honest portrayal of the next hailed star's gradual downfall.

I like that idea... Ray Allen can play Jesus as a declining superstar and it could be called "he had game"

We must've posted at the same time, since we have similar answers.

I think Ray having a young son will be cliche as f*ck and expected. None of that mentoring shit is needed imo, it's been done to death (specially in sports movies).

it should just focus on Jesus' life as a pro, and instead of focusing heavily on some dramatic turn in his career, it should shine a light on the league and the players in general. I'm sure he has TONS of insight on how shit goes down that nobody's really exposed yet. Show that and how it affected Jesus' career/life.

I would guess Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving would cast.

Kyrie Irving. Would love the high school scenes. His crossovers are crazy.

They should have a new young guy, but definitely not just a movie with Jesus. They should have Jesus (Ray) have a role in the movie, but it should be more about a new guy.

Maybe Kyrie Irving? Iman Shumpert? Kemba Walker? Dame Lillard?

Not trying to sound like a homer, but I think Iman Shumpert would be perfect for the role of like a young gun coming up with an attitude and Jesus can kind of set him straight.

An honest insight into racism in sports, the challenges an international rookie needs to make as opposed to an American rookie, and all of the different expectations and pressures he faces from his home country.

I always find it fascinating how much of a fanfare international players get, even if they ride the pine and only play 2 minutes per game, their countries follow them like GODS and are very proud of them regardless of how their career turns out.

We've had movies that dealt with street ball players, African players, the pressures of a rookie, highly touted prospects, all star players and even one vs Monstars but never a non black international player.
