here we go...

interesting Cowboys News:

As NFL Civil War Brews, We Must Ask: Who Should Fans Root For?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...fans-root-for?

Quote:

The biggest NFL story of the day Sunday—and maybe of the past few years—started with a question: Did Dallas owner Jerry Jones leak the inflammatory story from ESPN about Roger Goodell's contractual demands?

We'll likely never know, but the question is similar to: Is there gravity?

I can't prove there's gravity, but I know it's there. I don't float off into space unless I'm on the purple drank.

What's certain is that some owners believe Jones leaked the story, in what is quickly becoming one of the most high-stakes, ugly and public fights the NFL has ever seen.

One owner, who asked not to be identified, sent me a stark text about Jones: "He's trying to start a civil war among ownership. I can't sit here and tell you it won't work."

:D

You can do it Emperor Jones! :applause:

Roger is no good for the NFL. Everybody knows this.

Garrett's replacement?

He's got to go.

Any Given Sunday: It's Pure.

Re: The Dallas Cowboys...

Y'all need to get rid of Dez Bryant....this season was lost with the Zeke suspension because he's your most valuable player, should have told him to take the 6 games to start the season but he missed out the toughest games on the schedule and during mid-season.

He had a pretty terrible season in the games he did play but he still leads rushers in yards per game on average despite not getting nearly as many carries, only 24 against Seattle as well after sitting out 6 weeks..

Will probably finish 9 - 7 and still miss the Playoffs, tough year.

Re: The Dallas Cowboys...

JASON GARRETT HAS TO F'ing GO! PERIOD!

I guess I don't mind Jason Garett for one more year...

It sucks... but what are we gonna do?

if it wasn't gonna be a coach like Jon Gruden...
then I guess stick with the bull$hit we have and try to make a run in 18/19.

Don't feel good about it... but we can still get 11 wins next year.

The Dallas Cowboys are sticking with Jason Garrett...are you on board?

Re: The Dallas Cowboys...

We need to go get Allen Robinson.

Quote:

Terrance Williams is currently the Cowboys second starting receiver and his numbers are not even close to those Robinson could post during a down year. Williams recorded 568 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns in 2017, not exactly the numbers the Dallas Cowboys paid for during the 2016 offseason.

Realistically there is no reason to keep Williams on the roster, especially when it comes down to either him or picking up Robinson. The former Jaguars number one wide receiver barely had a 2017 season as he tore his left ACL during the first drive of the season.

Robinson is running again and should be ready for training camp. At this point in his career, Robinson will not break the bank, coming off of an injury and a slightly above average 2016 season, he could not cost all that much to acquire.

It also seemingly depends on the 2017 playoffs. If the Jaguars offense cannot get the job done with the weapons they have Robinson could be lured back into the fold. The recent play of Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook is an encouraging sign for the Jaguars offense as both of those players are looking more and more consistent every day.

For the Jaguars at the end of their playoff run (whenever it may be) it may make more sense to let Cole, Westbrook, and Hurns be the future of the Jacksonville offense and let players like Marquise Lee and Robinson hit free agency.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFC_Championship_Game

we are pretty much in the same spot as Washington and Detroit.

almost every other team in the NFC has been to the Super Bowl or at least the NFC Championship game since the Cowboys were in it way back in 1995.

(Vikings 4th loss in the NFC championship since 1998... ouch.)

even the Bears were able to make a Super Bowl appearance as recent as 2006.

Dallas needs to get its act together next year.

I was reading something on my phone earlier, don't have the link atm.

It was a compare and contrast of the Eagles and Cowboys this season. The one thing that stuck with me is that the Cowboys always seem to be 1 player away from disaster. If Sean Lee doesn't play, the defense is a mess, and the same thing with Tyron on the other side of the ball. That's a failure of coaching and preparation.

Agreed. Too much reliance on 1 guy. It is 100% coaching. Next man up mentality is important because every team gets injured and you can't have your season fall apart when it does. Look at the NFC championship game, both teams were there with a backup QB. Good coaching gets over injuries. I don't think Garrett is a good coach but Jerry is happy keeping him there because he's a puppet.

Re: The Dallas Cowboys...

I could envision a scenario where Philly beats NE this year...

but NE cements its second dynasty against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers next year (after Rodgers beats the Cowboys in the playoffs again.)

I would say Patriots over Cowboys in 2019 (atlanta) would be the perfect way for Brady to officially crown New England as "America's Team"... but I don't have any faith the Boys could make it that far.

See you guys in the draft.

early prediction:

New England over Green Bay

We will also have to account for Saquon Barkley next year...

and many years to come.

cause he's going to NY with the second pick. :facepalm

Maurice Hurst (DT, Michigan) is projected to be drafted by the Cowboys at 19.

I can live with that.

Re: The Dallas Cowboys...

We have good DTs, I don't like that.

I want:

1. Safety
2. Wide receiver (deep threat)
3. Linebacker (Lee can't last a whole season)
4. Tight End (Witten old, we need a receiving weapon here)
5. Tackle (our depth behind Tyron is a joke)

Those are our main needs... hopefully we can cross off one or two in free agency.

Thankfully it looks like the 2 CBs we snagged last draft are studs. (Awuze and Lewis) so we probably don't need to address that.

all the other mocks I've seen have us taking WR.

saw one with us taking Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
