Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
I was watchin his newest set, Laugh at my Pain, and thought it was pretty good. But I was thinkin, has he done enough to be considered legendary. I mean lets look at it like this:
Grown Little Man- Legendary set. One of the best of this generation.
Seriously Funny- Really really good, possibly great set. Extrememely quotable.
Laugh at my Pain- Pretty good set. Not his best, but some hilarious moments.
Then he has his scene stealing in pretty much every movie he's ever been in. He has one of the best youtube channels of any comedian (I'm overlooking the fact that his rapping shtick is a poor man's Deshawn Raw Supa Hot Fire bit). He's constantly cracking up the funniest of people in interviews (I like to watch comedians with other comedians. I feel like they try to one up eachother and eventually someone gives in. With Hart someone else is almost always giving in because they're laughin).
And of course we'll always remember the AS Celebrity game. :oldlol:
Here are the things that I think might be keeping him back: the biggest is lack of work. He is still young, he needs to build a bigger resume. He hasn't had his own major movie, even though he's smashed it in everything he's been in (that I've seen). Also his 3rd set was a good 3 notches below his first two. Idk why but I doubt he's running out of material.
What do ya'll think? In my book he's on the cusp of being a legend, but Grown Little Man is already legendary as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
1 big movie and stop laughing at himself during the show, do that and he would be a legend
Re: Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
Wow standards have severely dropped.
Re: Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
I checked him out a couple of years back because I read a lot about him in the OTC, likely from Kizzle or one of the other Jet Magazine editors that post here, and I hate to be 'that guy', but Kevin Hart sucks. Flat out unfunny and boring shit.
Re: Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
White people have to like him for him to be a legend.....lol jk
Legends to me as a cracker:
Chris Rock
Dave Chappell
Keegan and Jordan Peele
Bernie Mac
Eddie Murphy
Wasnt old enough for some of the other legends...not into the big mama stuff dont like all that tyler perry stuff or w/e i dont even know... not a fan of that 30 rock guy....although that cop movie he was in was funny as shit....hes okay just compared to the list above....noooo way.

Yes.
I don't see why anyone would say otherwise.

He's the Chris Tucker of our generation.

He's like a less talented black version of Jack Black.

his comedic style is about as similar to jack black as strawberries are to a left footed shoe. not very.

Not really referring to style, mostly referring to how overrated and annoying they both are.
Although Jack is more talented then he is.
And you're kinda wrong as well....
Both Jack and he have played that annoying/loser friend, the comedic sidekick in which they overact and want to emphasis everything they do. So actually they're not so different.
Re: Is Kevin Hart a Legend Yet?
