Stoudemire again impresses in victory

LAS VEGAS - Amaré Stoudemire found the dunk file in his body's motion Rolodex. Up next, rebounding.

Stoudemire played a second straight night at the Vegas Summer League and was again impressive, scoring 24 on 10-of-16 shooting Saturday but had only one rebound off a free throw in 27 minutes of Phoenix's 89-70 win over New York.

Stoudemire, who did not dunk Friday, opened the game with the first of three dunks. Two were easy one-handers on breakaways and the other overhead jam came off a post spin against David Lee, whom he faced mostly after Channing Frye left with an ankle sprain.

"It's doing great, especially confidence-wise to come out and play strong back to back," Stoudemire said. "I'm just trying to keep making progress."

Suns coach Phil Weber said he saw a glimmer in Stoudemire's eye Saturday morning when his legs responded well to Friday's 21-point game.

"A lot of times, he was unguardable," Weber said.

Stoudemire had seven fouls for the second game but had a better defensive game. Offensively, he hit mostly jumpers but had two power moves and a behind-the-back pass.

"For all the non-believers, don't ever doubt me," he said.

Get em STAT!

That's what I like to see. I hope everything continues to go well for him. Being able to go big minutes back to back is a real good sign for the Suns.
