I lose it everytime i hear some1 wit a british accent........
So my cousins birthday was today, moms called me to remind me to wish him. He lives in the UK i tried to keep a straight face but had Bill Burr standup in the background and made sure he heard so he knew i wasnt laughing at him. Its just the words they use like cheeky, innit, mate plus the accent just kills me. I react like Cartman does to midgets

what can i do to stop this? i have to try to think of something really serious like poverty or starving children to get me to laugh and even still its hard. SRS

You're not the only one.
My buddy went to Vietnam and noticed most of them pay high dollar for an American to teach English because they want to speak like we do on television. The ones that hire Brits and Australian teachers are the poor.
No demand for that type of English.

Guess when you beat England in war you can do whatever you want to the language.
Re: I lose it everytime i hear some1 wit a british accent........
I have an Australian friend that lived in the States for most of his life and he moved to Thailand to teach English and he's making pretty good money from it because he has a normal American accent.
Going back to the Vietnam story, he noticed that most older generations speak English with an Australian accent because of the teachers there. The current generation want to sound like what they see on television so American English teachers are in high demand over there. They don't want to learn English from undesirable speakers. Weird how one language is more desired than others.

Is this a jealousy thing due to the fact American broads get wet at the sound of a decent english accent?

not to sound pretentious..Idris Elba in his native accent (in Luther) is a far cry from stringer bell . You may find it funny half the time , or all the time :lol . But i think british accents works, if u stick wiht it long enough
