We call them steroids

Genes. I don't know his vert...but I'd say it's 40+. At lot of people that are up that high are blessed with the great genes. Look at Jamario Moon or James White. Those guys don't look they do anything (idk if they do, though) and they both jump out of the gym.
His 44.5-inch vertical - measured prior to his rookie season at the Lakers
Accordingly, to get a better understanding of why Brown sticks mostly to push ups and does little to nothing with his legs, we sat down with Schaefer for a podcast:
God damn. Little to nothing with his legs? There are guys out there who do the most intense plyometric workouts and can't even dunk, and he was born with springs

steroids ruin your knees and dont help you jump higher because they add so much weight.
Shannon Brown is all genetics, probably is in an elite class of 20 people out of the 9 billion in the world with amazing fast twitch genes like he has.

9 billion? :oldlol: We're not even at 7 billion yet. Sorry for lol'ing, but that's a lot of people to be off. :D
He's black.
He's black.
What about Jordan Farmar, who can jump almost as high (42.5" vertical)?

He's half black. So by that logic he would have been able to jump 85" if he were full black!

It depends of body and genetics and i mean this. Used to do 50 pushups a day and already got ripped. I remember my dad coudln't believe it, even when i was at school people would say ""Man how long did you work out at the gym"" although i have never seen a gym in my life. Some people had to go to the gym to accomplish what i can with 50 pushups a day , and yet i am to laisy to do those 50 pushups so i stopped doing it:oldlol: :oldlol:
I don't know if its plyos. May be the genes, since he says he doesn't do much for his legs, which I kinda doubt, to some extent.
Imagine if he actually did work out his legs then?
nobody in the nba does nothing.. these guys have trainers, coaches, etc around them 24/7.. morning workouts, evening workouts, mealplans, etc..
one thing that really helps hops : stretching.. nba players got 2-3 guys stretching them all throughout the day in the craziest ways to maximize athleticism..
but yes, shannon brown is blessed with hops.. his athleticism is crazybeautiful
