That game was something to watch...
You're not supposed to shoot contested jumpers off the bench. He should be smacked every time he shoots a contested 3 unless the shot clock is under 2.
He's a beast anyways. And I'd bet most his misses come from contested shots. Not gonna go and say he always misses when contested but It's the type of stat teams cream for. NBA failing the fans.
I was so happy when I heard he was working on pump fakes and working out with Ray Felton in the summer. Great to see someone not get complacent after a big contract.
Yeah he even said he planned to do this a few months ago. He was upset about how ineffective Miami made him and that motivated him to work on his shot fake, being able to put the ball on the floor for 1 dribble to get better space, and a quicker release
Idk man... Not a knicks hater but screwing around with your release after having an amazing shooting season, just because you had one bad series. I could see this getting him off to a slow start once the regular season starts. But who know's I've never seen a guy who was probally the best catch and shoot player in the nba change his form a couple months later.
really nothing more than a 3pt specialist. i do really mean nothing.
and?

You didnt see what i said:
He didnt change his MEHANICS at all, hes just learning to shoot faster. The mechanics, release point etc are all the same
Everyone knows Novak's deficiencies. People blame Woodson and Novak himself for his poor series, they are partly to blame. However Novak relies on penetration and ball movement to get his shots. When your down to a severely hobbled Baron Davis and Bibby and relying on them to penetrate and dish it out to the open shooters against Miami, you know you have a problem.
Knicks have 3 great facilitating and passing pg's this year, will be great to see Novak amongst others get open so much more.

Agreed. And in a lot of ways Novak was a big help. Because while the Heat kept a defender glued on him (often Wade, a good defender)...everybody else on the floor was left to miss open jumpers while the defense focused to keep Melo out of the paint. In essence he still played a big role in occupying a defender, there just wasn't enough from the guard position to take advantage of the attention Novak and of course Melo was getting. I don't think that's a problem this year. As impressive as Novak was, I feel like Raymond Felton was more impressive...infact all 3 Knicks pgs impressed.

Pablo Prigioni... Argentinian pg.
Novak will be in the league for a long time, there's always demand for shooters.
