- 1,504 games (most with one team in NBA history)
- 10 x All-Star
Jordan comes to mind. People have him as some untouchable Greek God or something in their minds.
They've got him as though his impact (on a game) far exceeded every other all-time great.

Stock is overrated in the sense that people here think he is actually better than Wade. That's the only overrated thing I saw about Stock on this board
Re: Who Is the Player From the 90s Thats Gets the Most Overrated Now
Probably Payton or Pippen.

He was an amazing player but that doesn't mean he can't be overrated, i don't agree that he was overrated tho.

Stockton was great, no doubt. But when people start putting him over Wade, that's when it gets ridiculous. Stockton couldn't be your best player on a championship team. Stockton was a gritty player who did all the dirty things and could stuff a stat sheet, hit some clutch shots. Never one of the very best players in the league like Wade.

Stockton was a good player who put up impressive career totals due to playing for a long time. His career averages (other than his assist numbers) aren't as impressive. Stockton's consistency is impressive but his longevity is something that is greatly overrated. Favre played forever too and owns many passing records in the NFL but that doesn't mean he's the best QB ever. Isiah and Magic gave you more on a nightly basis than Stockton and their career averages reflect this despite the fact that they played 13 years instead of 19 like him...
I'd take Nash over Stockton anyday, Nash has displayed the abiltiy to take over a game (something Stockton couldn't do) on many occasions.

Malone.
Miller is not overrated. He would be the second best SG in today's basketball.
Re: Who Is the Player From the 90s Thats Gets the Most Overrated Now
MJ, i swear people out there will have you think he did not have 1 bad game all decade, even say his team was down 0-2 in a game 3 of a conference finals or something of that sort.
Re: Who Is the Player From the 90s Thats Gets the Most Overrated Now
Miller gets underrated on this site to be honest.
He's just so difficult to access. Surely he could have done more during the regular season if he wanted to, his playoff performances are an indication of that.
If he had taken 17-20 shots a game, every game, his numbers would have been much gaudier and people would look to push him to the foreground regularly.
But as it stands he put up good numbers, on great percentages and that can't be ignored.
What separates him from other players with better numbers is that he took his team deep into the playoffs multiple times and he fit into the team structure perfectly.
