Sons of Anarchy season 5
We're only about two months away (less than actually... I think September 4th or 5th). I can't freakin' wait. TV this summer had sucked ass. Give me SoA and Boardwalk Empire.
Anyways, there's been a lot of awesome additions to the cast this season. I can't wait to see how it all plays out with Jax, Opie, Clay, Tara, Unser and Gemma all pretending to get along in front of the rest of the club.
Post news, pictures, links to videos here.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Going to be weird seeing Jax as the boss, and Clay, being the vp. Not sure how thats going to work out. Always liked Clay as the boss. We'll see how Jax handles it.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Yeah these next 3 seasons (Sutter wants to do 7 total) are going to be different with Clay as VP and Jax as President. I'm just glad that Clay survived season 4. I think he absolutely needs to go down but I hope it's near the end of the series. Ron Perlman is too good of an actor not to have on the show.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
i love this show. to me its right there with Breaking Bad, if only it didn't take so long for the new season i'd be more hyped. i was so addicted after i marathoned it
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Can't wait!!!
Hope they don't kill off Clay. Ron Perlman is awesome.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
i downloaded season 1, through the first 4 episodes. how do they get away with saying fck on fx?

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
I've never seen a minute of Sons of Anarchy.... but I've heard good things about it.
Anyone want to give me a short synopsis of the show and why you'd recommend it to someone who could go for a new non-comedic TV series?

You should watch it because it is awesome. Show starts off with a motorcycle club that transports guns. The main character is the VP of the club and the son of one of the founding members who died under suspicious circumstances. The VP's mother re-married another man who is now the president of the club. The club has to deal with other biker clubs and gangs, while also having to do deal with legal issues along the way, all while dealing with internal club shit (including the history of the VP's father). The show gets really intense like several of the other modern dramas (e.g., Breaking Bad). I think the first 2-3 episodes were very boring, but stick with it and it doesn't take very long to get very good. Not a ton of humor to the show like Breaking Bad has, but the payoff overall is very rewarding, especially come the end of each season.
Btw, season 5 started off very interesting.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
The became ridiculously stupid since they left for Ireland. I watched the premiere the other night to see if it had become any better but it was the same bullshit.
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
season 5 premiere was epic... maybe the best ever.
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
I like the introduction of Perrineu into the show. Not sure about the other character. He just slept with Gemma and now he's harboring fugitives when he's already in a shady business?
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Man, I thought episode 2 was so good.
No spoilers but loved when Opie showed up to get himself arrested w/ the club toward the end of the episode...almost had me in tears.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Already thru 2 seasons and this show is 5x better than Breaking Bad. Mind you Breaking Bad was my fav before starting SOA. I was just wondering, and mind you I am only thru the first 2 seasons of SOA, but does Jaxx annoy the fck out of anybody else?

I can't believe how ruthless and brutal the characters are in this show...
:wtf:
Unable to watch... too disturbing.
but let me ask this question though:
Is the CIA working with somebody in one of the episodes?

To sum it up: Change of leadership and a lot more killing
And that's not just for the Sons, but for everyone involved in that show (Law enforcement, other MC's)

Completely disagree. I love SOA, but BB is on a whole other level. SOA does have the balance that BB does. The seasons start out slower, they have significantly less character development, and there is less humor to keep us entertained during slow moments. Plus, the story writing is just not as tight knit. I'm thinking by season 3 (if I am thinking of the right season of SOA), you may start to agree. Luckily the show gets back on track after a down season.

Season 3 of SOA was pretty much saved by the ending. I think I liked it more than most people but it was the weakest season so far.

Yeah. It easily had the best finale, but the first 3/4 of the season was pretty bad IMO.
By the way, does anybody else hope the neo-Nazi guy comes back regrouped while the Sons battle the blacks? The leader told his daughter his plan was to come back after a few years, which I believe it had been several years in the timeline.

Shit, I'm totally lost as far as the timeline goes. It would be interesting to see him back in the fold but I like Pope a lot. Him torching Tig's daughter was brutal. Dude is like Nino Brown lol.

I'm lost too, but there was a good chunk of time in Ireland and then there was a full year that we did not even see. But the easiest way of gauging time is probably by looking at Jax's kids. His first child was born episode 1 I believe, and that kid looks like he is 4 years old or so now. That same kid was still a pretty young baby when he was kidnapped, which was the last time we saw the Nazi guy, so it has been about 3 years since he left.

Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
My mind was blown. A cameo from Tommy Merlotte too  . Other than that, I thought it was a weak episode. The sheriff's wife getting shot and them 2 appearing saved it for me tho.

The scars are real. He got them from some ruthless thugs outside a bar where he DJ'ed.
Anyone notice Juice's weight loss? I was worried he got the "big c" or something. Fortunately he's just appearing in a movie titled, Meth Heads. Guess that explains it.

This new member of the cast actually tried suing FX not long ago claiming he came to them with the idea for Sons of Anarchy. Supposedly he used to be president of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang. My Uncle is actually doing a life bid for these guys, but that's another story.
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
Overall not a bad episode, besides the ridiculous scene where we learn that destroying somebody's face with your seriously injured hand helps decrease its swelling.
-
Re: Sons of Anarchy season 5
That guy was a Hells Angels president of the NYC chapter. His name is Chuck Zito. He used to be on Howard Stern all the time. And he was a regular at Scores to the point where they used to joke that he could get things there for dinner that weren't on the menu. Howard used to say Scores had the best steak in NYC, but only if you went with Chuck.
He also made tabloids when he allegedly beat the hell out of Jean Claude Van Damme outside of some club, which you may or may not believe. My father is not a rider, but he is a great bike builder, and friends with a great many Hells Angels, mostly in CT, but a lot from NY too, and he's met Zito on more than one occasion.
I'm always intrigued when actors have real scars and they're forced to put their existence into the stories. Chibbs' allegedly came from that IRA guy over his wife and daughter IIRC.

I believe it. JCVD is a fairly small dude who knows movie martial arts that is not effective for actual fighting. Essentially, he is a gymnast.
Opie was also the big dumb guy (Lump) in The Ladykillers.

I believe JCVD was a world champion kickboxer, so even at a size disadvantage, I'd think he'd be able to hold his own. And Zito isn't huge. He's a big guy, probably uses steroids, but it's not like he's a 6-6 monster. It's also possible that VD was inebriated.
I know Opie mostly as Gary Bertier, the sort of racist white kid who overcomes his racism because of his love for football in Remember The Titans, only to get cripled in a car accident before the big game.

Ah, wasn't aware of that. Still, that was probably a long time ago when he trained for actual fighting. He isn't exactly youthful anymore (and maybe drunk at the time as you said). When did that guy beat him up?
