OT: 16 things you must believe to be a Bush supporter

Things you have to believe to be a Bush supporting Republican today:

1) Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary
Clinton.

2) Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's
daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and
a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

3) Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade
with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

4) The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our
highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

5) A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind
without regulation.

6) The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in
speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

7) If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

8) A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies,
then demand their cooperation and money.

9) Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing
health care to all Americans is socialism.

10) HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public
at heart.

11) Global warming, evolution and tobacco's link to cancer are junk
science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

12) A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable
offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which
thousands die is solid defense policy.

13) Government should limit itself to the powers named in the
Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the
Internet.

14) The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but
George Bush's driving record is none of our business.

15) Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a
conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers
for your recovery.

16) What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest,
but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

17) Feel free to pass this on. If you don't send it to at least 10 other
people, we're likely to be stuck with more Republicans in '06 and '08.

You forgot the one about the world being 6000 years old and the fact that WW3 is a necessary precursor to the impending judgement day.

Left out "be a good Christian" but support a war that wastes thousands of lives, as well as all but ignore the poor who I believe that Jesus fella was kind of fond of.

liberals and conservatives are so funny when they themselves are brainwashed by this conservative BS media and the 4th Reich of Bush. I like seeing them b&tch at each other and not get anything done.

Vote socialist. Equality for all. The workers of the world will unite and overcome. Long live the intifada

That's right. Generalize all Republicans.

ZHAKIDD532 09-05-2006 11:24 PM

Oh yeah, It's much better to take wrong action then no action. If I tell you I'm tryin to decide whether or not to start a nuclear war, and instead of thinking about it, I'll just do it, it's easier....

AppleNader 09-05-2006 11:26 PM

LONG LIVE THE GLORIOUS INTIFADA. you morons are all brainwashed by this conservative devil media and 4th Reich of Bush. Vote socialist and vote for freedom and equality. the Workers of this world WILL UNITE and OVERCOME.

You forgot about how you're only supposed to help the good aryans in a disaster but when african americans are in danger of losing their lives you turn the other cheek and then afterwards say "My god, I never expected that to happen" when they all die.

Its amazing to me how people spout off about things that they have no clue what they are talking about. then again that is nothing new for you.

As to the post about why this isnt true, you dont have to believe everything or even a majority of things a candidate believes to vote for them. I disagree with alot of the things bush does(no child left behind is very high among them) but i voted for him for several reasons. The thing is, you just have to believe that the candidate is better than the other one either overall or on the most important issues to you. I know that many voted for bush because they feel the country is safer with him as a president which imo it is and that did play a part in my voting for him.
