Bargnani looking pretty good in pre-season

I know it's just pre-season, and one of the games was against CSKA Moscow, but he's been solid so far. He's averaging 12.8 ppg and 5 rpg on 49% shooting. Did people write this guy off to early?

Don't start praising him now. He did this last preseason...

I realize people don't pay much attention to teams that aren't there own in the offseason.

Bargnani bulked up 15 pounds. He's a legit 7 feet, 265lbs now. He's big.

Word is he came out of his shell this summer. He started speaking better english and talking more to his teammates. He hit the gym harder then he ever has before and he was the first one in the gym all summer.

People forget that he was runner up for ROY when he was drafted, and that he had a bad sophmore year, which is a common year to have a player's numbers drop.

He will be better this year. He's going to be a great 6th man. He might not be a starter in this league, but he's certainly is no worse then a top 5 player from his draft.

He's not Darko. He's only played two season in the NBA, and one of them he was the third best player on a 47 win team and ROY runner up (over players like LaMarcus Aldridge and Rudy Gay).

You can't be serious. He was the runner up for ROY because Brandon Roy got 127 out of 128 votes. The 1 out of 128 first place votes came from Chuck Swirsky of the Raptors. That's not impressive at all.

He's exactly what you said. He's a "big" 7 footer, averaging 5 rebounds? Come on now. And it's not like he's making up for it with offensive firepower.

As you can expect, he is a former #1 draft pick.

averaging 5 rebounds isnt good. Plus one game was against CSKA Moscow, and Trajan Langdon is the star of that team, that's right, the Alaskan Assassin who couldn't crack an NBA roster is a stud in Russian league.

Also don't even start to compare Bargnani to Rudy Gay or Lemarcus Aldridge, the only guy comparable to Bargnani is Okur, and at best I'd say Bargnani can be a lesser version of Okur.

lets see how he grabs those 5 boards against real starters.
