A team belongs in Seattle
There is too much history, and the grassroots level is crazy over there
Not to mention die-hard fans.
Realistically, I don't see a team until 2010, but who, knows, the OKC Thunder situation progressed fast

actually, there was a slow bleed ever since shultz sold the team to bennett in 2006

if we do have a chance at a team, there needs to be significant public money and then the owners would have to move an already existing team-- milwaukee, new orleans and memphis are mentioned as financially vulnerable

the biggest difference is that the intentions of the investors to move the team would be clear up front. unlike the disingenuine nature of how bennett handled it all here in seattle

I think the rumors is put out by the politicians. Just because it is around election time. Every Sonics fan should remember who are responsible for this debacle? THROW THEM OUT OF OFFICE. Make your voice count.

What about Paul Allen or someone else from Microsoft? Could they possibly get it done?

I think it was Paul Allen before who was trying to help out the Supersonics.

allen already owns the blazers so i dont think the nba would allow him another team

steve ballmer, from microsoft, had headed up the ownership team that wanted to put money into it before but once their own deadline came and went, i havent heard anything else

freddie brown and gary payton supposedly are trying to get it together too. also, ex-sonic james donaldson was elected to the seattle city council with getting the sonics back as part of his campaign-- we will see...

Is there a good website to keep up to date with a possible new Supersonics team?

Basketball fans still hope for KeyArena renovation

Basketball fans hoping to bring an NBA team back to Seattle say a measure is still alive in the Legislature to help pay for renovating KeyArena.

By The Associated Press

Basketball fans hoping to bring an NBA team back to Seattle say a measure is still alive in the Legislature to help pay for renovating KeyArena.

The Senate Ways and Means Committee on Saturday approved a bill that would allow King County to tap restaurant and car rental taxes as a funding source for the Seattle Center.

The group Save Our Sonics says the state and city of Seattle must approve arena legislation this year to get an additional $30 million from Clay Bennett, if no NBA team comes to Seattle by 2013.

Bennett agreed to pay the money as part of the deal to end the KeyArena lease with the Sonics and move the franchise to Oklahoma City.
The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn on Sunday.
