NBA Live video games are...
...so retarded that at some points, I have actually laughed out loud at the stupidly moronic AI and crappy "basketball simulations"
The NBA Live section of EA Sports has to be ****ing bombed, and somebody should force the 2k series to be put onto PC. Bastards |
That's the problem... no real alternative on PC.
|
Both games have their flaws. I usually alternate between the two each year. Both are fun.
|
What major flaws does 2k6 have? I played it quite a bit on Xbox360 and didn't notice any blatantly poor programming or game play issues that is typical of NBA Live games.
|
The only flaws I can think of for 2K6:
-You can score at will by using screens or pic and rolls. -When posting up, one of the turnaround shots seem impossible to time. -When the CPU is underneath their own basket, they will always pass it to the PG...even when he's doubled team. Easy steal. |
As opposed to major flaws in NBA Live 06 such as:
1. HIghflyers can do windmill dunks over 4 people starting from a standstill 2. Outside scorers can create impossible physical motions into a scoring opportunity. 3. Retarded off ball movement by CPU 4. No cohesive team play what so ever. 5. Complete lack of a post game 6. Massive oversized heads on players 7. Style over substance 8. Complete lack of "those little things", such as contested rebounds, poor shots, etc. |
I haven't played Live much, but I won't argue. NBA 2K6 > Live...hands down. You're better off getting NBA Street v3 instead of Live.
|
Pretty much all you have to do in Live is to dunk with a highflyer and go out and shoot threes with your best shooter. Too easy sometimes.
|
Shooting 3's is not easy in 2K6. I only end up taking 1 or 2 three's for every game (12 minute quarters). I think they need to make it a tad easier.
|
The person who decided to replace the "post-up" feature with the "superstar modes" needs to be executed. Seriously.
Worst. Decision. Ever. |
Oh yeah, and Dirk making hook shots from the three sucks too.
|
****. NBA Live 07 promises "enhanced superstar moves", etc...meaning we will almost certainly see bullshit such as AI doing a simultaneous 360 and backflip while bouncing the ball off of somebody's head and into the basket.
|
NBA Live 2002>Any other 2k or live game.
|
Re:
I agree. Live is a joke.
if you have a good dunk rating and you just angle the controll stick toward the basket and press the dunk button, you can soar over the computer and literally displace the defender in midair as you dunk. ridiculous game. 2k6 is not much better. there is no good basketball simulation. but Live is still fun |
2K6 has a little flash too. You'll sometimes (actually, very rarely) see the computer throw an off the backboard pass for an alley oop. Dunks can be nasty too, but not unrealistic. Another flaw for 2K6 is when you're driving it in, and you get to close while pressing the agressive and power dunk direction on the right analog stick (not the reverse dunk direction), the player will attempt a dunk on the opposite side...which most likely ends up as a missed dunk.
