Games start next Tuesday night.

The Matchups:

Chelsea vs. Juventus - Chelsea just has too much talent

Villareal vs. Panathanaikos - Pretty straightforward

Sporting Lisbon vs. Bayern Munich - Ribery has to be a top 10 player right?

Atletico Madrid vs. Porto - Meh

Lyon vs. Barcelona - Barca look unstoppable right now.

Real Madrid vs. Liverpool - Rafa always comes through in the CL

Arsenal vs. Roma - Matchup of the round. This is tricky given that Fabregas is out and Arshavin is cup-tied.

Inter Milan vs. Manchester United - Despite having a better squad Inter lost convincingly to Liverpool last season. I don't see them beating a team that is consderably better.

I can't wait for this. The best thing there is in sports after Feb/March in college basketball.

Lyon vs. Barcelona- Barcelona (aggregate score 100-0 lol)

Real Madrid vs. Liverpool- Liverpool (gotta go by the last few years with Liverpool)

Arsenal vs. Roma- Arsenal

Inter Milan vs. Manchester United- Manchester United (them and Barca are clearly heads and shoulders above the rest)

with the exception of the Man U and Barca games, where those two will dominate, i feel like each team has a good chance.

Oh and how many games in the EPL have Man U played without giving up a goal? 13 or 14 I believe.

Hmmm... those are pretty good. Lemme think, be critical... nope.... that's as good as I can do.

Will add three things though:
- Maybe Real over Liverpool?
- Round of 16 historically has mostly just the best left, so "upsets" should not really be that surprising.
- three: Chelsea - Juventus. Too much suspicious stuff has happpend over the years for me to believe that games are always going off cleanly. UEFA needs Italy to have a team near the final. Juventus has such a dubious reputation ... a strangely officiated away-goal win over Chelsea?

Sporting (my underdog win. Bayern is not feeling so hot right now, will probably be close)

Real Madrid (So I hope :P, close matchup imo)
