Luther Head is reportedly heading to the Heat. About time, Chalmers is ok, but come playoff time won't be a factor.

The Heat signed another 3 point shooter. He should be able to beat out Quinn for the backup point guard. I really wanted him to sign with the Grizzlies though.

If this is true then the Heat will solidify their need for a back up PG. Quinn is a hard worker and all but he just doesn't have the athleticism to compete with most (any) NBA PGs.

Also the 3 point shooting is most welcome here.

let me make this clear, Luther Head is not a point guard and i would not trust him to be in the playoffs... he needs to be an off ball guard that will look to hit open 3's or look to drive. Miami does not really have a strong post presence but Wade alone draws attention that should give Head open shots. with limited playing this season, he should be fresh but i wonder how his timing is and how much of a factor he will be with miami...

Luther Head is by no means shape or form a point guard. He can barely bring the ball up court. When he's pressured it cookies all day.

I'd take him though, just another designated shooter. I haven't heard of his signing anywhere though...Link?

As a Rockets fan I'll tell you, you do not want Luther running the point. He is a bit shaky in the ball handling and passing department. Really just have him catch and shoot and he is effective.

Anyway, good signing for Miami. They had an open roster spot. Cant be any worse than Quinn, especially on D.

All he's got to be able to do is hit some open shots when Wade sets you up for them.

It'll be interesting to see how Spo will utilize someone like Head. Is he going to come off the bench for Chalmers and play alongside Daequan?

We've been playing a 3 guard lineup of Mario, Wade and Cook for long stretches all season so i'm guessing you'll see Cook and Head in the game together at times, when Wade shifts over to PG.

The Heats fans will soon 1) learn that Luther Head can't play point guard, 2) Luther Head is only good for shooting open shots, 3) Luther Head plays below average defense, 4) hate Luther Head eventually.
