Spurs release Pops Mensah-Bonsu
 

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have released forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu from his 10-day contract.

Interesting even though he had a nice game with the Cavs recently. He could turn into a great bench player if he works at it.

With Gooden coming on board, there's not much use unless Drew can't stay healthy.

Was he with the Spurs? Makes sense if they're adding Gooden.

I expect Pops will find another home.

Haha, we had "HE WILL BE A SUPERSTAR" thread. I guess not. Is he really released, or jsut back to the d-league where the spurs can call him back? He seemed a decent prospect on a team that really doesn't have young prosepcts.

Just because he got released doesn't mean he won't be good. The "Superstar" thread was laughable, but you can't discount his talent because the Spurs are always trying to sign veterans before the playoffs and usually the younger players get cut somewhere.
