Anybody else hate going into draft threads in the NBA forum?

I can't go into them. There's a thread right now in there where everyone is an expert on Tyler Hansbrough. Makes my head hurt.

Re: Anybody else hate going into draft threads in the NBA forum?

Opinions posters have in the NBA forum...

-Tyler Hansbrough is a top 15 player

-Dionte Christmas is the steal of the draft, yet the people who think this think his name is "Dante"

-Hasheem Thabeet is a "bust" before he even declares for the draft

-Stephen Curry has been compared to every 6'2" combo guard in the NBA

-Ricky Rubio is either the next Steve Nash, or a "bust" purely because Europeans taken that high can't be good

-Tyreke Evans is apparently what every team needs

-Brandon Jennings is a bust! Look at his Euroleage stats!

-Brandon Jennings is the future! Look at his youtube handles!

add to the list...

-Blake Griffin will turn the Wizards into a contender
-Gerald Henderson will never make in the NBA cause he's from Duke
-20 year old James Harden is a career choker
-Jeff Teague will be as good as Dwyane Wade
-Willie Warren will be an elite scorer

I just read someone in the Hansbrough thread mention that Hansbrough doesn't deserve to be drafted until the late second round.

It's also amusing watching people discuss Blake Griffin.

I also want to call out myself for saying that Adrien could play SG/SF in the NBA. That was a terrible call by me. I do believe that can play SF/PF, he'll struggle against many of the bigger PF's and will also struggle against many of the quicker SF's.

Yeah you can just tell some of these guys are basing there opinions on what they read off of NbaDraft.net or highlights they seen on ESPN.

My favorite was a post by Senor Cedric. Someone said Team "X" could use a player like Earl Clark. Ced says he's never heard of him, posts 10 minutes later saying "ok I just introduced myself to Clark. He kind of reminds me Al Thornton and Lamar Odom. He looks like he's going to be a stud". :oldlol:

I'm not going to lie.

I havent watched a Louisville game the entire season until they played Michigan State.

For some reason I hate them & Pitino so much I can't even get myself to watch.

From the Hansbrough thread:

Quote:

the 2nd coming of mark madsen go lakers! pick him up
Quote:

hansbrough will be a big bust
Quote:

Hans will never put up laetner numbers. i dont think he is capable for that.
Quote:

Hansbrough is going to need better perimeter game.I could see him being a decent defender, or becoming a ben wallace type player with a jumpshot. and a good FT%
Quote:

his game really doesn't impress me at all

where will he go? probably early 2nd

where should he go? really late 2nd.

I don't see him having a better career to even players like Shelden Williams.
[/quote]
Quote:

o those praising his scoring ability....

His style of play won't work a bit in the NBA. He uses his size and strength score points in college (and while getting calls like DWade).

There is a reason why this "hard working", "tough" college player is not a projected late lottery or mid first round pick.

Yes, someone actually said he could be Ben Wallace with a jumpshot.

Dude will be lucky if he even has the opportunity to guard Ben Wallace. Hansbrough will be lucky to find himself on a NBA roster. He might have a chance in the NBDL but NBA? Same I think will happen to the Wear brothers in a few years.

Don't be ridiculous. Tyler Hansbrough is already better than a lot of players playing in the NBA right now. On my own team, I'd take him over, Yi, Mo Ager, Sean Williams, and Najera. I may take him over Josh Boone too. The guy will have a Corliss Williamson like career if he never loses his work ethic.

That's going overboard. He'll be a rotation player somewhere.

that is why i don't post in draft threads other than what type of player the team may need to pick up..

i don't watch any college ball other than a ucla game now and again or to catch a player everyone is talking about... i doubt there are more than a few posters here on ISH that watch enough college ball to disect every one of the top college players game and what type of team he'd hope to go to...

:lol Adrien SG? Nah. but I don;t think he will have problems with the PFs.
