Raptors/Charlotte Trade rumor

#1 + Alvin

for

#3 + Brevin Knight

http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1339

Looks pretty good to me.
Save a lot of cap space, get a good pg.
My only concern is that I think Morrison might be the only superstar in this draft.

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 01:03 AM

If that trade happens I think:

#1 Charlotte - Morrison
#2 Chicago - Thomas
#3 Toronto - Aldridge

Which means we get rid of a contract, Fill the PG need, and Fill the Center need. Not bad at all. Yeah though, Morrison might be the only superstar so itmight hurt not to get him, but filling those needs is a definate +.

AKADS 06-14-2006 01:06 AM

Chicago will go with Aldridge or Roy.

Toronto should go after Roy. Combo gaurd with size and is ready to play.

If Mo Pete doesn't want to resign or if there is a big enough market he is tradeable.

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 01:10 AM

Thats true. The only reason i said Thomas #2 was because of his agent saying it was gonna happen for sure. I guess ya can't bet the bank on that though. Roy would definetly be a good pickup but i'd hate to see mopete go.

If Mo Pete resigned you could run him at 6th man. He could play a little SF or in the backcourt with Brevin or Roy as point. Plus Jose as a B/U point. Out of the top 5 picks Roy will be the best next yr.

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 01:27 AM

Morrison might have something to say about that. But it will be them 2 for sure. Also, I like how smart you are. You always show me up :ohwell: . But anyways, nice brain, I respect that.

AKADS 06-14-2006 01:46 AM

Don't try to show you up I just like discusions with you cause you have different opinion. I accually really like your opinions

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 01:52 AM

Yeah I know your not tryin to show me up.. it's just that when I make a post and you post right after me.. I'm always like "ahhh he's right.." haha. And yeah sometimes we have the same opinions and sometimes different, so it's always interesting reading what you say.

SirPresident 06-14-2006 02:19 AM

get a room.

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 02:24 AM

heh.. yeah.. that was coool and stuff.

T-Low 06-14-2006 11:49 AM

You both have good points. But I have to agree with AKADS because Aldridge will definately go to Chicago. There has been hype that he would go there if Toronto did not pick him. But, you guys can argue to what you want about who goes next....Tyrus Thomas or Rudy Gay would be a pickup because they are both freaks when it comes to the court....they can cross over almost anyone. Just lovin it...

Chamberlain 06-14-2006 08:36 PM

Yeah now that I look back on it I agree with him too, I was just going with what the agent was saying.

AKADS 06-14-2006 08:52 PM

If the Raptors are goin to trade down I would think they would deal down to 10 with seattle. Or maybe with NO for the 12th and 15th Pick.

The Seattle deal would leave the Raptors with
Ridnour
Mo Pete
Villy
Bosh
Sheldon/OBryant

With NO
Rando or Lowry
Mo Pete
Villy
Bosh
Armstong or Maybe Armstrong.

The 12th and 15 Pick would really help with depth. And if the Raptors could get rid of Alvin in the deal it would be a great deal.
This draft has depth and 12/15 could be good role players.

Or
TO gets #12 #15 and Knight

Char gets #1 JR Smith

NO gets #3 and Alvin

I am goin to post this trade Idea in the NBA forum

Brevin is the same age as Mike James, who you seemed to speak highly of in the other thread.

He's nothing great but would instantly become the best passer and playmaker on the team. He is an ok option at starting PG. His defense is fairly average as well, something I'll take.
