Should at least be a decent backup for West. Probably better than Marks/Bowen/Ely.

If Scott can realize what Ike is best for, then the hornets will get a steal. Ike is a post scorer. He needs the ball, and needs minutes. If they think he can be a pick and roll guy, or just be a defender and rebounder off the bench, then he won't be effective. He actually needs what David West gets: carte blanche on offense. If he's allowed to post on the high block, he can be a powerful offensive weapon for the second unit which they desperately need.

Their offense when Paul leaves the floor is non-existent, and a second unit who can at least score a basket will do wonders for the team by taking pressure off of Paul and West and allowing them to play less than 40 minutes a game.

I really like this signing by the Hornets. Diogu had a couple of good games to end the season for the Sacramento Kings this past year. I remember when he was playing for the Pacers he started out the season very well. He came off the bench, hit mid range jumpers on a consistent basis, and was effective rebounding the ball. Then he tore his calf muscle and was out for a while. When he came back he was never really able to get back into coach Jim O'brien's rotation. I feel if he can get consistent minutes he will be a productive scorer/rebounder coming off the bench.

Great addition. As an avid Pacers fan, I wish he would have more fit into Jim O'Briens' system. A good low post scorer and a dominant rebounder when he wants to be. Haven't watched him much since he went to the west coast, but the only thing he lacked was that he was slow and a miserable defender, at least when he played for us.

Either way, great offensive young big guy.

Thanks for your input guys. I just hope he, along with the other bench players will be able to spell the starters and not allow the offense to go stagnant. Especially when Paul and West take a rest.

I really hope he's consistent, I've followed him since college and he just needs playing time to hone his skills.
