Arizona Cardinals (Kurt Warner) Official Offseason Thread

Kurt Warner is holding a press conference this Friday to make known his plans on whether or not he's coming back or retiring......and all signs point to that he'll walk away from the game. (He's a LOCK for the HOF in my opinion, I can't believe people say he's not).

This can also be the Cardinals offseason thread b/c I didn't see one. Now....what do the Cardinals do at QB if Warner retires??

Is Matt Leinart really the answer? He's been in the league, what, 4 years now. And he hasn't really shown anything special in his opportunities to play.

Should they trade/sign a proven QB or draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round....or put all your marbles in Leinart?

I'm hoping he gets a chance also, otherwise maybe they go with another vet, McNabb or Garcia at QB.

It would be a waste of a draft pick. If Warner does retire, IMO they should give Leinart a shot. They're not going to need a complete stud QB for their offense to function well without Warner considering they have Boldin,Fitz, Breaston, and the list goes on.

All signs point to him retiring later today. NFC west is wide open now.

Eh. Not too worried. Warner retiring would be a hit but it would also allow Whiz to run the offense the way he likes and Beanie Wells would get a lot more carries.

If he does retire, Leinart will be starting and we will look to draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round. 1st and 2nd rounds are reserved for CB and OLB help. Him leaving would also let us have more money to keep some of our free agents and shut up some of the guys wanting new contracts. Hell maybe we will make a run at Peppers.

Lienart will get a chance but Arizona will be lookin around for proven, established QBs to trade for. And there is a guy in Philly who fits the bill. If they cant come to terms with one they'll go with Matt and most likely add the veteran backup. Someone like a Marc Bulger whose days in Stl should be over. Who knows if Matt doesnt show anything Marc could end up with the job. :oldlol:
