April 17th, Round 1/Game 1: Utah Jazz(0-0) vs. Denver Nuggets (0-0)

This series intrests me. Denver always showed they are incapable of winning in utah, but this year they broke that and won one game.
I still think they wont be able to win in utah, hence my favorite is Utah for the next round.Because I think they will snatch one game from denver.

Nuggets in 6. Jazz have no answer for Melo.

AK47

It all depends on denver`s bench if they win this series.

Denver has owned Utah this year, Utah's only win came with Melo and Billups in suits, watching from the bench. But the way the Nuggets have been playing without Coach Karl and how the ref's refuse to call fouls over the last month, I can easily see Utah taking this.

Gonna be a tought first series, but i think we can get this one in 5-6 games. Melo has to play tough D and playing Lawsona bunch of minutes will help. Going to game two, so im stoked!!!

Harpring is gone = The Melo stopper

KMart will shut down Boozers (ala David West last year)
Afflalo will contain D-Will

Nuggets in 5 or maybe 6. Book it.

And for the love of god, play Lawson! Unless Billups goes all apeshit again

It's good to have HCA when it's a match-up with two of the best home teams in the league

Yeah Lawson seems to be really effective off that bench. He gives you assists, and is great at pushing the pace on the offensive end. AD needs to play Lawson and get rid of AC.

I think Melo will go off in this series. I really don't think there is anyone on the Jazz that can effectively try to bother him. Whoever said AK, you're wrong, he is not the guy to bother Melo.

I think the combination of K-Mart/Nene will make things tougher for Boozer, and if D-Will starts tearing it up, they will most likely put Afflolo on him to try and make things tougher.

The Jazz definitely have a ddeeeeeppp bench, but when it comes to playoffs, it's usually a 7/8 man rotation. And Denver's (Jr Smith, Andersen, Lawson) is pretty effective.

The only way I see Denver losing this one is if they are really missing GK, otherwise, I don't see Utah really challenging Denver. Nene will probably have his way with Okur offensively, and Okur really has not been the Okur of last year.

Denver in 5 games.

This is exactly what I am thinking as well

Memo should have a big series. Nene can't cover his outside-in game. Martin can, but Boozer will enjoy working the interior without Martin's weakside defense, and so will our cutting guards.

Williams better show that he can school Billups/Lawson, or any bigger guard they put on him.

I don't how how healthy Kirilenko is, and how effecive he'll be against Melo. He can at least contest his jumper and force him to put the ball on the floor from the high post. If we collapse well enough, we might survive Anthony's game. Loosing Brewer and Harpring sucks for this. Mathews ha the build and tough style to maybe guard him, but he's inexperienced.

The only real advantage I see is coaching. If we win this series, Jerry Sloan will be the person to thank. He's fighting against the odds here, imo.

I agree that Nene can have problems with defending Memo on the perimeter, but you can always put KMart on Memo and Nene on Boozers. But I can also see Memo struggling with foul trouble when defending Nene.

And what I'm most concerned with is the coaching match-up.

Korver also worries me.. The 2nd unit doesn't defend the 3point line well

I have nuggets in either 5 or 6. gonna be a sweet play offs. I'm not sure who has the hardest road to the finals. Jazz or OKC. Melo is gonna go APESHIT on ak47

Re: April 18th, Round 1/Game 1: Utah Jazz(0-0) vs. Denver Nuggets (0-0)

BILLUPS:
2 games vs Jazz - 27ppg, only 3apg, 1 TO, 43% from the field & 43% from three
3+ days rest (8 games) - 21ppg, 6.4 apg, 2 TO, 49% from the field & 44% from three

He got to the line 14 times a game against Utah, so I'm not expecting the same scoring numbers, but his shooting %'s are off the charts with 3 days rest.

MELO:
2 games vs. Utah: 33.5 ppg, 8rpg, 54.5% from the field
3+ days rest (7 games): 29ppg, only 5.3 rpg, 53% from the field & 37% from three

JR:
3 games vs. Utah: Terrible shooting, 35% from the field & 25% from three
3+ days rest: 18ppg, 44% from the field, 36% from three.

I think his horrible shooting vs Utah is a result of him being the 1st option in the two games with Melo & CB out

Memo also beasts with 3 days rest (not against the Nuggets) and he & Korver are the players that worries me (the 2nd unit doesn't defend the 3pt line well)

Game 1: in Denver is with 3 days rest so I expect a Win
Game 2: in Denver and I expect them to win again after a confidence boost in game 1, and the Nuggets are an ELITE home team.
Game 3: 3 days rest and Nuggets have even more confidence, so I'll say a third win for the Nuggets (3 days rest is the key)
Game 4: Utah will win, cuz they as well are an elite home team.
Game 5: Nuggets will end the season at home in game 5.
