The "Official 2010 NFL Draft" Thread

Well ladies and gentlemen, the day is (almost) upon us. Less than 20 hours away. The 2010 NFL Draft has finally arrived. We waited for months. We've debated who should go where. We had our own mock draft that almost went a full two rounds :lol . Thursday night, the first huge step to the start of the 2010 season will kick off.

The NFL draft moves to primetime for the first time, with the first round taking place Thurs., April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the second and third rounds on Fri., April 23 at 6 p.m. ET. Rounds 4-7 will be held Sat., April 24 at 10 a.m. ET.

I'm sure there will be plenty of questionable moves (Oakland again?) and more trades than we're used to seeing. This will be the deepest draft in well over a decade. I've read that there are at least 42 players who have a 1st round grade. Who will make the most moves? New England, Tampa Bay and Cleveland have the most total picks. What will the Seahawks and Niners do in the first round as both clubs have two 1st round picks in the top 16? What teams will make the best additions to their team? Which team will fail and set their franchise back another season?

Who will drop? Who will skyrocket up the draft board? Will there be any outrageous moments (like the Vikings almost missing out on a pick a few years ago b/c they went over the time limit)? With the draft being in a new format, things could get a little bit crazy. How will the new format affect things? It'll give GMs and teams more time to weigh the options and talk trades with each other. I can guarantee one thing, there won't be much sleep for NFL personnel over the next 72 hours.

ESPN claims that 10 teams made offers to the Rams for the #1 pick and the Rams declined all of them...

Mel Kiper: "Sam Bradford is a lock for the #1 spot"

although, for some reason the fact that they refuse to sign him until after the draft has me a bit concerned that something dramatic and crazy will happen...they obviously want to keep their options open...

The more I keep thinking about it, the more I think Sam Bradford will just be an average NFL QB. Sorry prime. Its just my opinion. I hope he succeeds b/c he's a good kid, but I just don't see it.'

I think what's going to be as crazy as the actual draft going on, is what happens when the 1st round is over tonight. Can you imagine how many teams are going to be trying to trade up, trade down, trade this player for that pick, etc? It's gonna be great.

Today's gonna be the longest day at work in a while.

ESPN's Adam Schefter predicts that Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen will fall to the Vikings at No. 30 overall.
The Dallas Morning News' Rick Gosselin annually puts out the nation's most accurate mock draft, and agrees with Schefter's projection. It appears teams are souring on Clausen at the worst possible time for his stock. Other interesting picks from Gosselin's Thursday morning mock: Brandon Graham to the Jags at No. 10, Demaryius Thomas to the Dolphins at No. 12, Ryan Mathews to Seattle at No. 14, and C.J. Spiller falling to the Texans at No. 20.

After you get past the first 5 or so picks the draft could go in any number of different ways. Ill keep a close eye out for the steelers to try trading Ben but I doubt it happens.

I dont know. Tonight is only first round. Then you gotta go to bed, work the next day and the clock will move incredibly slow before you get off and get ready to see rds 2-3. :oldlol: Not sure I'm going to feel the draft after the Eagles pick, whenever that is. Atleast with basketball you're already used to the format. 2 rds, bada boom bada bing. NFL? You know there are more rounds and tons of prospects left to be picked. Arrrrrgh.

6hrs 15mins left :applause:

I'm pretty excited because I have NO idea who SD will take. There is no lock.

Can't wait.

Any guesses what the first trade of the night will be? I think it will be the Eagles sending 24/37/later rounder/2011 pick for pick #5 from the Chiefs.

I agree, I fail to see the hype behind Sam Bradford, coming from a shotgun offense, having the best O-Line, terrible at falling, etc. etc.
I realize that attitude plays a part in a player's stock, but Clausen is by far the #1 QB in this draft class and if he falls below 20, that team will be getting one of the better steals in this draft

AJ Smith could do the same thing.

And by shock, I mean piss off. :lol
