in before liljohnnywall, OJA6'4"Mamba and others bombard you with insults for not jumping on the boat with the "messiah."

One workout doesn't realy amount to much though.

I just saw it.

It looked rather pedestrian granted, but not that bad.

2 things:

His jumpshot looks flukey and very blockable [low lift, not a very good release]

That left handed dunk of his seems kinda stiff sometimes idk what to make of it.

He's still going #1 and will be hard to stay in front of.

Same Logic people use for saying Rubio's not fit for the Nba.

Apparently he plays in a weak leauge so he's not fit for the nba

No it isn't. No one questions that Wall at least has the athleticism to play in the league. With Rubio that's a major question mark.

Can Rubio even stay in front of an average starting point guard? How badly will he get abused on a nightly basis?

Wall has far fewer up-front negatives than Rubio, imo.

Spanish ACB League Defensive Player of the Year: (2009)

So can you remind me how many international superstars rely on athleticism what so ever? It's not a focus overseas. They polish their offensive games they don't just try to dunk on people

He's become so underrated defensively it's not even funny

It doesn't matter whether international players rely on athleticism or not. What's important is whether Rubio can cut in in the real league, where athleticism is a major factor, especially at the guard position.

Lots of people have doubts, myself included, but we'll see if he ever decides to come over here.

It looked like he was dogging it.
Other workout videos of his look much better.
I don't think he wants to play for the Wizards.

No kidding. It's also about as casual a workout as you'll ever see. I saw an interview with him immediately after the workout a few days ago, and the kid wasn't even sweating. In the middle of the workout he stopped and shared a few laughs with the coach and GM. The workout itself was basically a dog and pony show (the Wizards are obviously going to pick him, so the workout was a mere formality), and it's likely that the Wizards' brass told him above all else, not to injure himself.

How anyone can extrapolate the belief that he is overrated from that farce of a workout is beyond me. If you've analyzed his game during his time with the Wildcats, and you think that he is overhyped, that's one thing (and perfectly legitimate), but to make that claim based on this workout is ludicrous.
