John Wall Sports Science

I am a HUGE fan of the Sports Science series on ESPN (my favorite one so far was the NDamukong Suh episode), and I have been eagerly awaiting the John Wall episode since it was announced that he would be participating in the show. I have a friend from Alexandria VA who happens to be a Nationals fan (he's not really much of a Wizards fan) but he stumbled across this on the WashingtonPost website and emailed me the link. It's incredibly riveting stuff IMO (I might be alone in my assessment of this stuff; I am the odd sports and mathematics/physics junkie amalgamate.) Anyway, for your viewing pleasure:

Have to admit, hitting those two targets, with two passes with that degree of difficulty, with only having the use of 2.5% of your vision is extremely impressive.

I think John Wall pass in game situations...he is not really impressive as far as star point guards go...He lacks the elite court vision of the great pgs(that isnt something you learn)

that drill had almost nothing to do with court vision

Not really, I have played with a ton of players that could do that. I'm not sure that I couldn't do that myself on the first try. I actually think Wall's passing isnt one of his strong points, he is gonna have to work on it because it doesnt come natural to him imo.

I grew up playing AAU with NBA players on my AAU squad(one was a much better dunker than Wall, and has a higher vert)...The people I play with now are just former D1 and D2 players...I doubt they can dunk on Jerry Stackhouse in a game situation, but they are pretty athletic.

All Im saying is that the segment looks dumb when they act like passing to stationary targets is some display of court vision.
