2009 Blazers vs Heat(Oden has 13/20/4)
I posted this game and thought some of you may enjoy it.
Part 1- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh1V7sfO8dE The rest of the parts are on my channel. What I love about Oden is how much he can impact a game without dominating the ball offensively. Given the minutes, he'll be an elite rebounder and DPOY candidate. Notice how each of his 4 blocks are kept in play in this game. And despite not needing the ball constantly, he still has the ability to put up a respectable amount of points. |

I remember that. Good night.

What would you consider a successful season from Oden this year? Playing a certain amount of games or do you tend to look at his numbers more?

I think if he plays a good amount of the season, his impact will be there, thus I say more games is a success rather than fewer games with better stats.

A successful season for Oden, IMO will be if he can play 65+ games, play more minutes and cut down on his foul trouble, the Blazers can improve on their W/L record and Oden can help the Blazers get to the semi-finals or conference finals. Give Greg and this young team something to build on heading forward.
I wouldn't necessarily go by stats, Oden's impact can go well beyond stats, though he's likely to be among the leaders in blocks, rebounds and FG%. If Greg is healthy, I still expect him to take a while until he can stay on the court and have good games consistently, but barring any more major setbacks, I see him getting there. |
