Why America will forever suck at the Olympics

I think Game 5 showed why Team USA will forever suck balls at international competitions. A new team comprised of people like Wade, who make a living off of the superstar calls, tiny amounts of contact, getting to the line for bullshiit contact that would never even pass for a foul inthe Olympics, etc etc etc...

(btw, this has nothing to do with Mavs vs. Heat and favoritism, in case you were wondering)

I haven't seen too much interest in the American national team anyway sooo....who cares

Never really got behind the whole superstar call thing. Every one should have to play witin the same set of rules. Just because a guy is good, NBA handicaps the rest of the defense to make that one player even better so that the player can look even better than he is.

People like Wade are gonna play the exact same way in the WC/Olympics, and expect the refs call the foul and reward them with FTs. Doesn't work like that.

re:

Even the Big Fundamental was hampered by three second calls all throughout the Olympics.

dammnn that trapezoidal lane... just because foreigners lack a post game and an outside game does not mean you have to shrink the three point line and make the painted area larger...

In a few years domestic and international basketball will be as different as baseball and cricket.

SupermanOnSteroids 06-19-2006 08:07 PM

or football(american) and rugby.

Wrong. In a few years, NBA will no longer be dominated by American stars.

There will still be guys like LeBron and Wade getting all the attention however. international players will rise but still won't get shine like the streetball/dynamics American players do.

The 2008 Olympics is gonna suck cuz, none of America's BEST players are gonna play, and i don't know how our role players are gonna do, and Kobe Bryant's the captain. Oh Boy! :violin:

imagine if Kobe averages 40 points and the US actually wins the Gold... i think that will be worse than the US gettin geliminated in the prelims.

the olympics/international league rules suck balls. many bs calls against duncan last time he played.

dude could not cross the lane without getting called for a foul. they allow

less contact than even the nba. foreign refs suck balls worse than nba refs, and have for quite a while..

see 72 olympics. nba refs suck. international refs suuuuccccckkkkk.

re:

i read about that

that was THE MOST OBVIOUS AND BLATANT SCREW JOB EVER

the refs and the Olympic committee guy blatantly robbed the US of the Gold.

All the American's have to do is run and gun and they will blow every other team out of the water. Who cares if it's international rules? It's still basketball. America still has far and away the most talented, best basketball players in the world. As long as Larry Brown is not the coach they should be fine.

^amen. the world is getting better, but they still have a ways to go in order to rival the NBA's American all-stars.
