Heat - Lakers Draws best ratings Since 2004

NEW YORK (AP)óThe highly anticipated first matchup between the new-look Heat and the defending-champion Lakers drew the highest television rating for an NBA regular-season game on ABC since 2004.

Miamiís 96-80 Christmas win earned a 6.4 fast national rating Saturday. Thatís up 45 percent over the game in the same window last year, also a matchup between Los Angeles and LeBron James(notes), then with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Itís the best since a 7.3 for another Heat-Lakers meeting on Christmas six years earlier.

ESPN said Monday the Celtics-Magic game on ABC drew a 4.6, up 39 percent from the matchup between the same teams last season.

The average rating for the three games on ESPN increased 20 percent from a year ago.

Ratings measure the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program.

It's cool that such a large number of people saw Bryant wilt under the pressure.

You cant make a statement intentionally to wind up Lakers and Kobe Bryant fans and then whine because people reply at you.

Get real.

Did I lie? Did he not wilt under the pressure on Christmas? Did he not go out like a sucker (his team got blown out for the second time in a row at home and he played less than stellar). I never said he sucks, or the Lakers suck or any of that. But in this game, he went out like a sucker. Period.

Sometimes you just have to take a loss and move on. Getting defensive about it just makes you look sensitive.

Its true he played a bad game, I mean, im not even trying to deny that. I dont think it was because of the pressure though, but more of because Miami and Spoelstra knew exactly what to do to stop him.

But anyway, if thats the only conclussion you can take out of a 48 minutes game...well, its up to you.

Yep, poor guy has wasted years on ISH obsessing over Kobe. Quite sad and comical at the same time.
