Comparing Felts and DJ

At this point the drop off between the 2 seems to be narrowing.

Felton:

17.5 ppg, 3.8 rb, 8.9 a, 3.4 TO
FG=42%, 3pt=34%, FT=87%, MPG=39
6th season

Augustin:

14.7ppg, 2.9rb, 6.2a, 1.6 TO
FG=44%, 3pt=38%, FT=87%, MPG=34
3rd season

Here's a highlight vid of DJ's 31 pt.s against the Sixers.

Re: Comparing Felts and DJ

These stats are somewhat misleading because both players have different roles on the team. Numbers-wise, Felton is definitely better, however, the percentages favor DJ.

Felton is significantly more important to the Knicks than DJ is to us. The Knicks have Felts and Amare with a bunch of role players. DJ is arguably our third best player behind GW and Jax. I say arguably because TT is contributing more.

I don't really know why anyone would think DJ was better than Felton, and I think we all knew that Felton would probably play better when he went to NY. But it's just one of those things. It's in the past now, and what we have now works just as good as what we had last year.

Felton's going back to his old form.

Low FG%, bad 3pt shooting, and taking a bunch of bad midrange jumpers.

Don't worry about his defense. I'd say by this time of next year he'll become a Steve Nash type defender without good shooting strokes.

I guess my point is I was really concerned at the beginning of the season that DJ wouldn't be up to being our starting PG. I've been pleasantly surprised, especially since Silas took over.

Nash played a good game against the Cats, he just couldn't overtake our entire team last night like he used to in previous seasons.

DJ against the Warriors: 27 points, 12 assists. So far on this road trip he is averaging 19 points and 8 assists and the Cats are 3-0.:rockon:
